Maybe ya'll can work something out, if he still has it.

Checked the rear track width, 56" for both cars. Hope it fits.

Welcome neighbor!

Live across the Sabine from you. Know your neck of the woods quite well.
Been almost 3 years since I last blew through there.

Re: another new guy!!

bud has some 289 cores, and probably trans, he has some 65 Fairlane bone cars, but I guess the rear is a litle too wide?? Take a tape measure to that Fairlane differential. I'm betting it fits. Probably have to remount the spring pads, not sure on that one. I pulled a '66 Fairlane GT 9" that was ac...

Re: 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Build

Yep! Other than forged pistons my late model circle track 289 was similar and it ran 65-6700 lap after lap for years. Motor had 2 owners before me and I ran it for 5 seasons. If was in 2 more cars that I know of after me. Owned four and bought two for my son many years ago. One failed due to PO's s...

Re: 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Build

Hard to beat a '65-'66 289 for a reliable build, IMO.
Port the heads, upgrade the timing chain, rod bolts, valvetrain/cam, flat-top pistons.
Very dependable engine that will turn 6K+ all day long.

Re: New ‘64 Cyclone owner

There was a poster claiming one a couple years ago I remember. It had a wacky DSO code and could have been a very rar...

Re: Cross country auto transport?

Transport cost is through the roof now :(
Was thinking about picking up a car from California until I checked the transport price. Lots of scammers, too. :x

Heck, tune her up and drive out in the Spring, fly back?
