Re: 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Build

Is that a 5.0L H.O. pan? I was wondering if the rear sump would fit the car.

I would like to add a little more capacity one of these days.

Thanks

I have had occasion to agree with you!! LOLOL https://i.postimg.cc/sD5pKv9g/Screenshot-20250217-102838-2.png Precisely why I am confused, Fred   My son informed me of the Coyote package during my hiatus. When I read up on the power numbers, I dreamt of installing it in a early Falcon or...

Re: 1966 Owners Manual

Hi Joe, actually I used to have a Cyclone GT with a 390 cui engine and different VIN number. This manual came obviously with the car by accident. I am just wondering if the VIN number here is original ( 50001 ) or, if it is just an illustration like Jim is guessing.... Regards. Thomas Ah, think I g...

Re: 1966 Owners Manual

Appears you owned a base model Cyclone?
My '65 had three-speed manual shift on the column.

There is a '66 Cyclone 289 car located not far from me that was up for sale but taken back by the owner as a keeper.
Kind of the same story for me w/ my '63 Custom.

Re: New motor bought of market place

Hard to tell from pic but yeah rail rockers are stock. Not preferred w/ performance cam with higher lift. Rocker could pop top of the retainer and drop a valve, wreck a piston & cylinder. Doesn't someone make a screw-in stud that doesn't require milling the pad? Seems like I ran into this not long a...

Re: Glitchy Video

Was disappointed after seeing video my son shop out of his Fairlane. It turned out pretty good.
Really can't justify going Go-Pro and trying to keep up w/ the Jones. No biggie.

Glitchy Video

Any of you guys have any idea why my old Apple phone camera shoots glitchy video? Saturday morning was very nice, decided to mount the phone to windshield and shoot my regular 'maintenance' route in the Comet. I have a feeling it may be some kind of focus setting gone awry? It's around 7 years old, ...

That's a cool bike 8)

Someone did an excellent job restoring it. I bet it was a blast to ride back in the day.

Re: ‘64 Cyclone for sale.

That car would be great for everything from a cool fix n drive to a high dollar rotissore build! There was one the same build in my home town when I first got my Caliente. Funny now but because it didn't have any side trim at all I thought it was entry level hardtop. I've only seen one around my ho...
