Six months since last posting here.
Only thing I got done with the car this entire year was dialing in the distributor curve to Boss specs.
Had a definite plan for this car last year. Time will only tell if it comes to fruition.
Only the best to all-

Re: Anybody running flowmaster 40 series mufflers?
Was thinking about this thread a short while ago, driving the car through town. I think I would like to put a pair of turbos on this car, future pending. BTW- mine are 13"L and I think they are 15 years old but still seem solid. If I switch, I'll give you these. I think every situation has a differe...

Re: New guy
Welcome on, Bill! Had a chance to pick up a 390 4 speed Galaxie a couple years ago. The owner put me on the spot because he was liquidating quickly and has passed since that day, unfortunately. Ended up giving it to his son, which was the best thing. https://i.postimg.cc/BQfPmZZ2/63_galaxie.jpg Joe

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
Ya, Mag 500 more of a road wheel. Ever think of trying a wide steelie w/ those cheater slicks? Maybe a TTD on front like a period correct vibe? https://www.summitracing.com/itemgroup/wheel-vintiques-62-series-ford-chevy-style-o-e-primered-wheels?Wheel-Size=15x8&Wheel-Bolt-Pattern-application=&Primar...

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
I started by trimming the fender lips down to be roughly 5/16” from the inner fender. In that state, with the stock 8” (58.37 inches wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface) that gave me 5” to the lip and 6” to the leaf spring. 11 inches overall. Which put a 4” back space 15x7 wheel perfec...

Clearcoat Products
Been seeing clearcoat products w/ catalyst to pop a shine on any surface. Any of you guys ever try it out? Think it's the stuff the rat rod guys use on clapped out hoopties. They mix it and wipe on with a shop rag. Not for my Comet but regardless; may be an economical alternative for a beat driver. ...

Re: Anybody running flowmaster 40 series mufflers?
I had 40 series on my foxbody and could not stand the drone at cruising speed. Switched to 50 series and have been very happy with them. They are a little quieter but I like them. If you like loud then 40 series is for you. By your description, I would judge mine to be 40s. Yes, droning @ cruising ...

Re: My Comet for sale
Joe had any bites yet? Karl really likes it, he has it's rag top twin sister. said he missed his custom. He's in Slidell. I wish I had the money, I'd fly down and drive it home. Not yet, John. And that's okay. I'm live and let live. If it doesn't sell in 90 days, I'll keep it 'cause it wasn't meant...

I wanted to put a few more miles on the car before Wednesday when I am headed to Lebanon, Tennessee for the Triple Crown of Rodding event at the Super Speedway. This will be the longest distance I have driven the car so I want to make sure all systems are go. Safe travels to you, man! I was wonderi...
