Re: AOD trouble
So I had a chance to play with it today after work. I think I'm fighting both converter drainback and TV cable adjustment. I finished my exhaust so it wasn't so loud in an attempt to keep the neighbor happy. Then I fired it up and idled it. After 5 minutes or so I still wasn't getting anything, then...

Re: AOD trouble
I've done 2 trans rebuilds when doing my automotive apprenticeship, so I have some confidence in doing automatic trans work, and there's a couple good videos on AOD rebuilds on YouTube. Converter drainback did run through my head but I dismissed it as I thought that was mainly a C4/C6 thing, but I g...

Re: AOD trouble
The TV cable is connected. It's got the stock truck cable installed, with the stock bracket at the trans end and a custom bracket at the carb. I followed the adjustment procedure on the Mitchell on demand program from work, which was just to take the slack out of the cable.

AOD trouble
Im having trouble with my AOD not having any movement, seemingly randomly, and working fine other times. Long winded post, but im trying to be as detailed as possible. Story goes, I bought this trans used. Fellow said it came out of an 88 F150 with a 5.0L. It was marked 168K (Kilometers, roughly 100...

Re: 65 2 speed intermittent wipers switch.
Well thanks all for the replies. I've been doing more research and it seems like all the parts are hard to find, and it doesn't sound like it's worth the effort to me. I really only wanted the switch bezel and retaining nut anyway. I might use this switch without the wash and intermittent function, ...

65 2 speed intermittent wipers switch.
So I was in need of a headlight and wiper switch for my 65, and found a couple locally for $25 for both. This wiper switch, I think is a 2 speed with Vacuum delay, I'm not sure. Part number is C5GB-17A553-D. Fellow thought it came out of a 64 cyclone but that part number suggests a 65. There's 9 tot...

Re: 302 Oil capacity
Well, I don't remeber the block casting code, but when I brought it home back in November I did look them up and the block was coded for 76 Mustang 2. My dipstick tube is the same length so I definitely have the wrong stick. I'll be changing it.

Re: 302 Oil capacity
To the bottom of the front crank seal to the bottom of the pan is 5 and 1/4 inches. Stuck my dad's inspection camera in the fuel pump hole. Oil level is pretty much at the bottom of the crank seal opening. Confirmed the dipstick isn't bending. Did a rough calculation of the area of oil in the pan, a...

Re: 302 Oil capacity
Not bent, like I said dipstick is 14 inches long. There is 11 inches from the top of the dipstick tube to the oil pan flange.
Stuck my dad's inspection camera down the distributor hole, the oil is pretty much level with where the bowl starts to level out, not yet touching the crank

Re: 302 Oil capacity
No oil is collecting in the valve cover. Looking through the distributor hole I can't see any in the valley, not that you can see much.

Re: 302 Oil capacity
I'll crawl under and look for a stamp. Dipstick measures 14 inches, and the tube is 11 and 3/4 inches from the top of the tube to the oil pan flange. As far as I know it's for this engine. Dipstick isn't fully stamped, but it looks like D1DE-6750-AA
