Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

I used an American Autowire “Hiway 22” system in my Comet. They supply circuits and wiring for almost any accessories you have installed in the car. Every wire is labeled, and the termination points on the fuse panel are screw terminals so you don't have wires hanging out of the panel. I mounted min...

Re: 63 Hood Hinges

I replaced the factory hinges on my ‘64 with Mustang reproduction units, they made a huge difference in the way the hood fits. Make sure you spend the extra money on good reproduction units, they are worth the money compared to the cheaper reproductions.

Re: Fe dual quad linkage

Here is how I fabricated the linkage for my quads. I used a cable and “floating” pedal, this is on my Boss engine so it is on the LH side, your FE will be on the RH side. The front carb is the primary, progressive linkage pulls in the rear carb, vacuum secondary's on both carbs. You will need to eit...

Re: Carpet question

I've decided to go with the cut and sewn carpet. Gonna place order tomorrow. I'm also going to buy extra material in case I decide to leave the rear seat out. When I mentioned getting extra material the other day, I was told they could only sell me 1 extra yard, 36 x 72? I thought that was odd that...

Re: Carpet question

I would say if you make a plate that covers the hole and keep the shape in a mirror image of the opposite side a molded carpet for a column shift car will fit. You could probably sell the factory 4 speed floor plate and it would pay for the new carpet.

Re: Carpet question

I just installed a molded kit for my carpet and im not sure how it is installing a cut and sewn kit but that molded kit was a real PITA to get in the right position to trim it correctly. When we installed the sewn style my interior guy made it to fit my floor so installing it was not too much if a ...

Re: Carpet question

If the floor pan in the car is not modified molded carpet is a good choice. If the floor has been modified like in my Cyclone there is no choice but to have someone sew the carpet to fit the floor. I have found that automotive carpet is not all the same, the backing on the carpet can be stiff and di...

1964 Cyclone tachometer

1964 Comet Cyclone tachometer, was removed many years ago so I do not know if it is operational. This is just the gauge, no cup, no mount. The lead wires are cut to about 6” The stainless ring has very minor dent at about 5 o'clock on the flat side, the perimeter edge of the ring is very nice. $150 ...

Fire Extinguisher

I thought I would post this in hope that it might help someone in the future. I always carry a fire extinguisher in my vehicles, they have always been the pressurized canister type. A while ago I saw a different type of extinguisher advertised that peaked my interest. In the last few weeks there has...
