Re: 1965 Comet Caliente (little red)
Many years ago I owned a Lincoln Versailles with a 351w 2 barrel, it had the same symptoms you are experiencing. My relatives owned the local Lincoln/ Mercury dealership so I presented the problem to them. When I explained the stumble on acceleration he said “ wait a minute I will be right back” he ...

I have used this product many times, if you prep the two surfaces the tape is almost permanent. OEM uses it on emblems and trim.

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
Thanks guys. I try to keep my shop organized and somewhat clean, it does get messy and no matter how hard I try it still gets dirty. I need a cleaning lady! The fuel regulator and gauge are from Summit. If you look at the engine photo you will see the gauge to the right of the distributor. https://w...

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
Today it broke 70 degrees here in SE Wisconsin, I thought it would be a good day to fire up the Comet. Over the winter I replaced the rear main seal, installed a new clutch, did a few changes to the carburetors, installed a fuel pressure regulator W/ gauge and replaced the bearing type lower control...

Re: C-6 install
Small block and big block C6 bell housings are different sizes, ( larger than a C4) installing a small block C6 will need the lower part of the firewall changed along with the tunnel. If you are using a factory heater defuser it won’t fit after the change.
Good luck

It says sold? :? Jim It did not make reserve when it crossed the block, it went into “the bid goes on” where the high bidder or anyone else has the opportunity to bid in it. It sold for $22k which means someone stepped up with $5k more. Jim Was looking at this one a couple days ago. Maybe Hagerty w...

Your interior is looking good! As for the RH outside mirror, it should be in the same location as the LH mirror otherwise it does not look good. Being that most of the exterior mirrors were dealer installed there is no exact location and it differs between cars. When I added the RH mirror to my Cycl...

Re: 65 Gage Bezel
The bezel looks amazing. I am not fluent on ‘65 Comets but for some reason I believe they are the same as ‘65-‘66 Mustang. If that is true you have a very large audience that would be in interested the six gauge panel. Nice work!

Re: 64 Cyclone Tach Face Decal
I left you a reply on the HAMB, the stainless ring is not screwed on, it may be crimped from the back. I would contact the manufacturer or possibly a speedometer/ gauge repair shop, they might have the answer. As I mentioned the light bulb is the cause of the issue.

Prothane offers the bushings, two sizes of through bolts 1/2” or 7/16” either in red or black color material. They are the same as early Mustang. Part numbers : 6-1051 or 6-1052 https://www.cjponyparts.com/prothane-rear-leaf-spring-bushing-kit-polyurethane-1-2-inch-1965-1973/p/RSBK1/?year=1965&gad_s...

Wow, that filter does not look good. Cleaning the tank is a must, I would purge the lines also. If you seal the tank I would recommend this company’s products: https://www.kbs-coatings.com/kbs-tank-sealer-system.html I have used it a number of times on different sizes of tanks with excellent results...

Re: 69 Mustang Disc Brakes into 64 Comet
You supplied the make of car but you did not include what engine the car came with from the factory. ( six cylinder or V 8). It makes a difference because the front suspension parts differ between the two types of engines. I can tell you that with a V8 car 1970 Boss 302 spindles and disc brakes bolt...

The area on the C pillar is where the roof and quarter panel is seamed together, the factory welded it then covered the area with lead. The spot on the quarter panel in your picture must be from a previous repair, there is no factory seam or under structure in that area. When I stripped my car to ba...

Looking real good! Are you sure having all the carbs open at the same time will not flood the engine with fuel? I had a Ford tri power with Holley carbs on my ‘71 Comet GT, 302, mild cam, headers, 4 speed, I set it up with progressive linkage and it worked perfectly. I think having them set up to o...
