Stainless does not pit, are sure it is not chrome? Try using some OOO steel wool with a paste type metal polish. ( test on an inconspicuous place first)

Re: 64 with a 65 front nose
I think the decimal point is in the wrong place? Almost 65k for that?? ‘64 & ‘65’s each have their own merits, but mixing the two body panels is just wrong. The undercarriage is not very impressive, stock Mustang II crossmember looks like it was stick welded in place. The surface rust on everything ...

Re: 1965 Door Hinge Bushings...
has anyone found door bushings that fit well ,I used the Shafers Classic Reproduction one's and i am not happy. The first set they sent had the "too short " bushings but they did send replacements,These new ones are way too sloppy. I rebuilt them years ago and the car is still not together ,Its just...

I appreciate the compliments! I spent many sleepless nights thinking about the details during the build, it’s rewarding when someone notices and pays a compliment.

Re: 1964 ram air hood
My Cyclone never had a rubber seal stapled to the core support. Although I have seen them on other cars. It may have been a difference between assembly plants. ???? I fabricated a panel to fill the area between the grill and core support, having the panel in place might be one reason my Comet cools ...

Re: 1964 ram air hood
In my opinion it would be to your advantage to just purchase a glass hood. The scoops on the Comet hood are tapered to almost nothing in the rear and cut into the body line on the leading edge. It would be difficult to fabricate them and attach them to factory hood and make it look good. These are q...

Re: Turn back the calendar to 1969
Those are great pics of a really cool car! My clock only turns back to 1970 when I bought my first Cyclone. The pics aren't as good as yours, and are from 1973, but she was my pride and joy. :D 8) Like you, I had one of those expensive paint jobs, too. Paid a friend's brother $125 to paint her. Fou...

Re: Turn back the calendar to 1969
The black hood treatment was the hot ticket in 1969, the new Mach 1 had it so I thought it was cool. The hood scoop was an OEM part from a ‘69 Cyclone CJ.
I couldn’t afford mag wheels after the expensive paint job!

Turn back the calendar to 1969
I just came across these pictures of my Cyclone from 1969. I had owned the car for just about a year when these were taken. I had just had the car repainted and was not finished installing all the trim, note rear wheel well trim and rocker trim are missing. The color was Ford bright red with gold me...

Re: New ‘64 Cyclone owner
There are a couple of videos on “boob tube” that owners or interviewers claim their ‘64 Comet (Cyclone) are HiPo cars. The problem is they read some article that claims the cars were real and all of a sudden it is gospel. Makes me wonder how many of them were even around in ‘64 and how many of them ...
