Re: Need help with my shifter
Yeah it’s the center one Lee posted, which looks to be the same as the one Johno posted. Thanks to both of you. Sorry for taking so long to respond. A thousand projects. It looks like I have it put back together correctly, but the button on the T handle isn’t wanting to spring back. Maybe I didn’t g...

Need help with my shifter
I got my shifter rebuilt, cleaned up and working perfectly. And my kid knocked it off the counter onto the tile floor, swept the pieces that he could find back up and set it back on the counter without telling me. I can't get the button to engage anymore so I know it's wrong. I can't find a breakdow...

Re: Right Stuff Brake kit
Second update: Called for an update, as I was told it would be shipped this week, and they still don't have a booster, and tell me two weeks. I got a refund. They said they had it in stock. I could have gotten the one from Summit by this point. Back to square one. I think I'll try the kit you guys r...

Re: Right Stuff Brake kit
Well to begin the review… RPUI.COM listed the kit in stock. Red calipers were the only option available to order. I ordered on the sixth of October. After paying them, I got an update that it would ship yesterday. I called today and they told me to call back on Friday. After kindly asking for an upd...

What is this insert called?
I’m rebuilding my shifter. The bezel has pins that slip into these friction inserts. One of them was rusted out and didn’t survive the restoration. They pop in through the holes. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Right Stuff Brake kit
Normally I would be on a budget, but this is my keep-forever car so I’m going buy-once-cry-once. I probably don’t need power brakes either but it’s 100 bucks difference.

Right Stuff Brake kit
Hey, all. Making small amounts of progress on my Mom’s 66 Caliente. I’m rebuilding the shifter and the shifter mount. Cleaned out the fuel lines and tank, I’ll put those and the floor pan in this weekend. I got the door and ignition keyed and put my Mustang wheels on it for inspiration. Now to order...

Re: Hello from North Texas
Yeah, don’t get me wrong. I can’t even imagine how nice it is to upgrade to the overdrive from a regular three speed, and the AOD runs great once it’s set up. The mechanical and sheet metal requirements intimidate me too much for that to be a swap option, and the weight is a deal killer for me. I’ll...

Re: Hello from North Texas
It’s big and heavy and inefficient and expensive. I have one in my Fox. It’s really not bad for what it is. And as long as I don’t have to install it, remove it, mod it, fix it, adjust it or work on it.

Re: Hello from North Texas
Cool story! Welcome on. Since you've had Mustangs I will be interested to learn the differences in driveline and suspension as you progress through the build. Fred Full disclosure, my oldest Mustang is my current 1990. I had a buddy who owned a shop so I have done things like Mustang II front conve...

Re: Hello from North Texas
I’m pretty sure that this has the same fuel tank as the 66 Mustang so I’ll pull the trigger on a unit from Autozone. Don't be so certain about the Mustang gas tank fitting... Mine has a Mustang tank, installed sideways, to make room for the mini tub. I would double check if I was you to make sure t...

Hello from North Texas
Hi, all. I’m Scott. I recently acquired a 66 Caliente 289 that my mother purchased new. Family out of state had it since 72, and I’m trying to get it running. It needs a driver floor pan, upholstery, front brakes, a sending unit and some body work. I ordered a floor pan and bought a welder. I need t...
