Re: Is everyone safe after the Hurricane?
We are in Hendersonville, NC just outside of Asheville. We got hit hard with flooding, power lines, and trees down everywhere. This is the worst thing I’ve ever lived through in my 64 years. I’ve lived through earthquakes in California and hurricane Fran when it hit Raleigh, NC. Hurricane Hellene wa...

Re: Gas spill & Ruined paint questions
Well it finally cooled down enough to repair the paint that peeled off from spilled gas. I watched some videos on line, bought the needed supplies including a can of color matched aerosol, removed the rear bumper, and went at it. I could not get the aluminum rear panel to come off. I think whoever r...

Re: Gas spill & Ruined paint questions
That must of been a pain in the butt trying to fill up in freezing weather. 😭 Thanks Joe. Don't drive it much any longer. Fill up 2-3 times a year. Joe 2-3 times a year? I don’t feel so bad now. I try to get Mrs. Pickles out at least once a month. My wife’s already saying “don’t put any more money ...

Re: Gas spill & Ruined paint questions
So is that how the fuel neck is on Comets, off to the side like mine rather than straight down?

Re: Gas spill & Ruined paint questions
Jim,
You are not only close, you are dead on! I took Mrs Pickles to an upholstery shop in Inman, SC. I didn't trust going down and back on Hwy 26, so I took Hwy 25 to SC and then cut across hwy 11 to Inman. I knew Hwy 26 was going to be too steep.
I live in Hendersonville.

Re: Gas spill & Ruined paint questions
Hey Joe, Hope you are doing well. My three grandkids are running us ragged. I didn't know retirement would be this busy. LOL. I feel like an idiot. I realize now that that tube is a vent pipe and not the fuel line. Duh. I'm going to do what you said and see if it is clogged. I was both excited and f...

Thanks for that info. It looks like the TFFN site is long gone. Let me reach out to the Ford Six site.

Gas spill & Ruined paint questions
OK Folks, so I was finally able to get the headliner installed on my 63' Comet, aka "Mrs. Pickles". It was a very pricey because the front and rear windows had to come out in order to put the headliner in like the factory did them. While they were out I had a brand new windshield with tint installed...

Re: 1963 Comet - Front & rear glass ???
Thanks so much for the info guys. At least that's a ray of sunshine knowing the front and rear windows do exist. Both of mine are in great shape, but I wanted to prepare for the "what if" in case one got busted during removal or install. Damn mice in the headliner really cost me some $$$$$$$$$. Have...

1963 Comet - Front & rear glass ???
So I've been holding off on getting my headliner replaced on my 63' Comet. Mainly because we only have two local shops around here that do upholstery. One is a young guy that never gets back to you and won't give you anything in writing. The other shop has cars sitting outside forever waiting becaus...

Re: Mercomatic 2-spd Trans kit info
So I think I found a site that sells the seals for my 63' Comet, at least if its the same as the Fordomatic. Would my 2-speed Mercomatic be a SMALL case or Medium case? Looking at a service manual on line I believe the trans model would be code PCM-F for my 170 cu in engine. Thanks for any help, Dou...
