Re: Fan Shroud

My car has a basically stock and well worn, though good running 289. I normally have no overheating problems with a two year old stock replacement radiator, a 165° thermostat and an ancient flex fan until the mucho caliente ( see what I did there) part of the Summer hits. I also added a Gano filter ...

Fan Shroud

I bought this thing not long after I bought my Comet way back in '08 and it's been hanging on my garage wall ever since. Does anyone know which way is up on this thing? Is this even worth installing, it looks pretty puny.

'65 Caliente Dome Light

The chrome bezel and lens are both missing in my '65. Just wondering if this is the correct replacement? The guy claims it is but I have no photos to compare the originals to.

I think it was a HAMB member by the user name Muttley that posted the pics and a lot of his pics are missing now.

Re: Why are these pieces missing?

My '65 Caliente only has a driver side mirror but the original buyer spent the extra coin to get the remote adjuster version. Seems strange they'd do that and not pay an extra few bucks for a passenger side unit.

Re: Carpeting

I'm pretty sure that's where mine came from (it's been a few years so I'm not 100% positive). Yes, it's excellent quality. It needed to be trimmed on the sides and front a little. I had it installed by a local upholstery shop when I had some other work done.

Opentracker Roller Z-Bar Kit

Anyone ever used their kit? I'm not sure it will work on a Comet...........I emailed them but they are on vacation until October 4th. If not any recommendations on one that will work on a '65?

Re: Rocket's Comet Build

You may want to consider Powerstick's. I've got a pair on my Comet and am very happy with them.

Re: Joe's '65 Caliente

I actually went to NAPA and bought four new longer U-bolts but ended up returning them. The stock FOMOCO stuff is way better/stronger than the aftermarket stuff anyway. I still need to slap that NOS pair of Traction Master water-slide decals on my quarter windows.

Re: Joe's '65 Caliente

When I ordered my set I actually had the guy from Traction Masters look at your photo posted above. He said he'd never seen anyone install them that way and it wasn't necessary to get longer U-bolts. Mine went on with the stock stuff with no problem, there were plenty of threads left to accommodate ...

Re: RIP ROY

What a kick in the stones. :( Like most everyone here I've messaged back and forth with Roy many times. He sent me a nearly impossible to find window regulator free of charge a few years back when I was desperate to find one. I was really hoping to finally meet Roy in person this weekend at the CHRR...

If you right click on the image and select 'open image in new tab' a larger version, without the right side cut off will show up. Save a copy to your computer for future reference.
