The alternator provides a whiter light instead of the yellow light that you get with the generator.. the 1 wire alternator is the way to go.. if you are mechanically incline .. the generator may be ok.,. you have too many problems with the regulator and wires and no real problenms with the alternato...

THANKS for the reply on the COUGAR rear axle .. the rims for the Mustang would be ok to use.. I see lots say rear axle on the MAVERICKS ( 1970-76 ) would work as well.. do you know if the ones in a 6 cylinder donoer would have the 8 inch rear diff or bigger??

I have a 68 COUGAR REAR AXLE so I bought the REAR disc brake set up for 8-9 inch ford diff.. I thought this would be a winter project and then put it in in the spring.. It is cold up here in CANADA -40oF ebay cost.. $349.00 ..shipping $85.00 .. I thought that was a good deal..

does anyone know what the eye to eye measurement is for rear springs for a 1963 comet convertible?? I was to get mine re-arch but I would like to just take them off and have them done.. as otherwise I would have to send the car to them and have them take them off and do it $$$$

if you have one side of the brake wheel cylinder then one shoe will go forward twice the distance as the other one will not move.. this will cause the brakes to lock when applied.. my friend just had this problem as one wheel cylinder was doing this.. and these were new cylinders( BRAND NEW) .. now ...
