Re: LED Tail Light Issues

Wiring,,, thats one disaster waiting for me !! Happy to see your getting it sorted Fred Someone asked me today what brand of wiring harness that was on the Comet, Ron Francis or Autowire? Had to break the news that it was neither and I built it myself. Guess they were pretty impressed by the fuse b...

Re: what did you do to your comet today?

I FOUND THAT STICKING LITTLE RASCAL,,OR WHAT WAS left of him They certainly can make a stink, but have to be the most destructive creature there is when alive, I was blowing nest material out of the Comet trunk braces today with the leaf blower, it just kept coming, I don't know how recent it is, i...

Re: Lavron's '64 Build Thread

Ready to road test the Comet I guess  She is loaded up on the trailer for the trip to town tomorrow. https://cometcentral.com/photos/images/2020/09/03/7f3d85064ad3e49fa4ed7318d9508c2b.jpg Having it tied down and up on the trailer you can see the ground clearance slammed, or the lack thereof, I...

Re: Lavron's '64 Build Thread

Now that I can open and close the trunk at will the weatherstrip looks good. https://cometcentral.com/photos/images/2020/09/02/37d13ee99d1d84fb0aabfad72fd76150.jpg Also got the taillights working properly today. I guess I need to break out the woodworking tools and get on mounting the intake pattern...

Re: LED Tail Light Issues

Update on my LED taillights, put all Sylvania bulbs in and they work correctly. https://youtu.be/Hd_aQg3ezJ4 Sequencer still does not work but I will mess with that later. There must have been something going on internally in those cheapy bulbs because the third brake light is not messed up now eith...

Re: Lavron's '64 Build Thread

OK, I know this picture doesn't look like much but it is a picture of the trunk closed without the bungee cord holding it shut :P https://cometcentral.com/photos/images/2020/09/01/ffd53bc42b1e9a8806b49a532b51569c.jpg It also would have been a picture of the weatherstrip installed around the trunk op...

Re: '64 Windshield Squirter Nozzle

I got the regular squirters installed today but not for cleaning the windshield but to give you a refreshing squirt in the face if you get tired or need to clean the bugs off your face, it is nice there is one for the driver and the passenger   I failed to take a picture but just look at ...

Re: LED Tail Light Issues

I converted my tails and signals to LED this summer. Took a few tries to find a flasher that would work properly...or somewhat properly. Had to go to a 3 wire type, with one wire being a ground. The one I ended up with works as it should except the flasher clicks 2-3 extra times once the lights qui...

Re: Failed on Front Alignment

“IF” you have to elongate the slots to gain more adjustment I would suggest you install a “tower” instead of using the slots. That is funny Jim, I was thinking the same thing, of course, I was going to make my own towers, my upper mounts are a set of coilover mounts without the shock/coilover mount...

Failed on Front Alignment

I was not too successful at doing the home alignment, now I am wondering if I messed up on doing the front end install but more than likely I haven't a clue on how to use the caster/camber gauge. I think I am pretty much done trying and will just surrender and take and have it done, it shows I have ...

The package went out today USPS. I would think you should receive it by the end of the week.
If you do not let me know and I will track it.
The care package arrived today Jim, everything looks good thanks again!

Re: ‘64 Cyclone update

Glad to hear you got it worked out, I know I have some (a lot) of the same in the future for myself

Love the pic of the car in front of the garage, every time I see it I think about how clean it looks and a perfect presentation nothing overstated.

Re: LED Tail Light Issues

I put together a video of the taillight issues I have been experiencing trying to convert over to LEDs, I may have a solution for now but would like to get it fixed correctly eventually.

If anyone has any insight I would love to hear your thoughts.
