Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
Was messing around earlier organizing pieces and parts and cleaning stuff up. Stuck the master cylinder against the firewall and I think something is missing or maybe extra holes have been added? Does this cutout look correct? This car originally had power brakes. http://jcrootandsons.com/photogall...

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
Looks great!! I agree with Boss you are making awesome progress. One thing to think about, the top of your dash is gloss. You will probably get some serious reflection from sun of the shine dash. You may want to mask off just the top of dash a spray a coat or two of satin/ low gloss clear over it to...

Been working on Comet here and there. Been working at reassembly. Finished the vinyl roof, put rubber edging on the rear vinyl roof trim, where trim touches paint. https://i.postimg.cc/Kvn6fW89/A2-E55916-A3-B7-4-FD7-B8-F6-F5550-DBC19-D0.jpg Picture of vinyl roof done,,, https://i.postimg.cc/W1TQH7Ds...

Nice! What are plans for the car? Painting it the color of his original? Looks like a solid car!

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
wouldn't the rear line for a falcon be too short anyway since the wheelbase is shorter? I would think so. But the kit would save a lot of work. The rear axle tube lines should work. Then run the line from rear axle forward and where it stops short plumb the proportioning valve. Then all you need is...

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
Thanks Lou. My concern is that I am using a dual reservoir master cylinder and not sure if the line inline offers will work with that. I may need to mod a bit but I hate flaring SS and worry about lines being too short of needing to be reworked They have OE steel kit also. And if you contact them t...

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
I have a CSRP conversion so everything is there except the hard lines I believe. Just don’t want to have to custom make all of the hard lines Inline Tube has kits for 64/65 Falcon. I would think that would be as close as you can get to a 64 Comet (short of finding a 64Comet kit) https://www.inlinet...

Re: Manual to automatic transmission swap
I didn't know it was removable! There's hope! Any tips on how that can be done? Thanks so much! Ed I have a clutch alignment tool with different ends for different bushings. I fill the hole in the bushing/crank with wheel bearing grease. Then find the adaptor that fits the hole in bushing tight, in...

Wet sanding and buffing is prob the most rewarding part of the paint process. Always enjoyed it and also happy it is done so I can start reassembly !! lol
Really looks good

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
Root, Looks good, you are really making progress. Got to agree with John would be real easy to stretch the wheel opening now while it is all open. You wouldn't need to go as far as I did if you are only going with 28"" dia tires. Plus if you are going wider now would be the time to move the inner we...

Re: C4 Help
Just a couple more things... After you remove the crossmember be aware that when you lower the trans to remove,,, That the engine is also going to tilt back. If you cooling fan is close to rad it may hit the rad and damage it when you lower the trans. If fan is close to a fan shroud, same thing when...

I agree with Boss,,the visor is too much. If I was to build another Comet I would like to do a 64 comet wagon resto-mod.
