Re: Dan's 65 Cyclone project !

Dan the store bought toe boards were a big let down for me. they were over 100 each shipped back then, & even higher now & were pretty simple & needed work after you get them. the corners near the hump are spliced 3-4'' just as you would if you made them & need welded up there. & one of mine was on ...

Re: 65 comet polyurethane bushing kit

Daydreaming huh,,,that's how I ended up with sliders from speedway. they were for a mopar & were close to same size ,just a little smaller than the stock leafspring eyes, but I made some spacers from SS to fill the gap . that was before I daydreamed my self into split mono leafspings.

Re: 65 comet polyurethane bushing kit

both my 65's had different size shackle bushings than a mustang .they were right at 1'' O.D. whereas stang was about 1.5'' or something . & my car came with the larger size in the spring eye & the smaller 1'' thru the frame. but when I took the springs off my parts car it had the smaller 1'' bushing...

Re: ‘65 Cyclone on Hemmings web site

A/FX, I did ask about the headlight covers. I could go either way on them My friend John says they need to go. If I get through this weekend I may add that little project to the list to remove them and set them aside for a while. It's like the fender skirts I got with the the car. Not really planni...

Re: 1965 Comet Caliente (little red)

I have been looking for some of those that I had & haven't found them them yet. didnt think I'd ever need them... the pic of it in the garage...

here ya go; https://www.mercurystuff.com/1965-comet-vehicle-identification.html says 3 sp auto A code engine is 289 4bbl - 225hp Is it factory power steering? good that you have the skinny aftermarket booster but I think you will probably need a new MC for disc,I think they are different from drum t...

Re: Front suspension question/direction

Sometimes we forget what Shelby did with early Mustang which is almost the same as 65 Comet. Think I'd put the handling of a GT 350 up against anything with a M2 front suspension,,,,, wasn't that originally put in a Pinto!? exactly Fred! that's how Roy said it to me, won more races than most any ot...

Re: Front suspension question/direction

If that tci kit was a Mustang ii kit IMO would not be your best choice. If you need room for a big block maybe . You can bolt on mustang performance parts cheaper & can probably do most of it yourself. & for less than what you were quoted you could build a frontend built for racing which would be gre...

Re: 1963 Comet Mouldings

Welcome!! Kind of a fluke that I found that number. back before Christmas Joe Travers, a good member on here thanked me for setting him up with Russ because he had got a few hard to find things for his 63, the first was a headlight switch bezel nut. I ask another buddy on FB & he told me about Russ ...

Re: Front suspension question/direction

Thanks that helps. It has power drum brakes on all 4 corners at the moment. I definitely will be looking to do a front disc conversion on it. I will for sure check out a thicker sway bar up front. With your 4 link are you running a rear sway bar? They removed mine when installing the rear setup. I ...
