Re: Centerforse?

Fred I have never known anyone to have a problem with them. I have a buddy that owns a shop and has 8 cars. The nastiest one is a big block that puts out almost 700 HP before juice. He SWEARS by centerforce and won't use anything else. When I cange my clutch this winter I'm going back to a centerfor...

Re: Another T5 question!

KC is where I got my trans - fella named Danny Drummond, advertises on Craigs... He's a great guy - you might give him a call and ask him about core's. He might be able to work you a sweet deal on one he hasn't rebuilt (totally) that would work. Let him know Brad with the 67 sent you ;)

Re: Another T5 question!

Yep, my plan for the 63 is to be a driver I can drive anywhere. Right now it only has 3.25s, but plan on going a little lower at some point. And the engine will be pretty stock, nothing wild. So the 5 spd would be fine for all that, just a basic t5 is all I'm after. Just need to save some cash and ...

Re: Another T5 question!

I went T5 because I had a dying 3 speed and I planned on running a lot of rear-end gear (using 4.11's). I looked around quite a bit and I agree, the 4-speeds were about the same price as I gave for my 'race-built' T5. Old David Kee may build great transmissions but his prices were 'whoooaaaa'. Eithe...

Re: My car won't turn over!

Double check any wires that come through the firewall - I've seen them rub raw a few times. Def sounds like a short or ground. Sorry man...I hate hunting electrical gremlins. :/

Re: My car won't turn over!

I'd check cables/wires to the starter, at the starter and the ground. Dont just check connection, check the wires for damage and spots you might have a short. Have you noticed any sulphur like smells? I'd check the battery too in the event its been boiled. If that checks out go to the alternator (or...

Re: minimum budget, what would you do?

Well I'd put a gasket set in the motor, clean it up and maybe spray it and the engine bay and call it good! If your water pump isn't leaking and the bearing seems good you might have another 50k miles left on it. Take that carb and clean it up real nice, check/ change the plugs and wires if necessar...

Re: Value of a 1967 Comet Capri

My car ain't no show queen and I give two hoots what anyone else thinks about it or me lol. I don't enter the car for judging for that reason alone - I don't care what others think - it's mine and it makes me happpy. Let the boys with 15k paint jobs and no kids to spend money on have the trophies. A...

Jedeka it comes down to what it's worth to you! If you want to be like everyone else buy a mustang or a 64/65 comet. If you want to stand out go for the 66/67 Comet. ( that outta work 'em

Re: Value of a 1967 Comet Capri

In 2005 there were 247,420,000 + automobiles in the US. If yours is one of 1000 survivors - is it rare? ;). Rarity is less of a driver of worth than demand. If you own 1 of 1 but nobody wants it...is it rare? Yes. Is it valuable? No.... So getting back to the 67 Capri - it's rare given the number pr...

Re: How to build a 775-horse BB Ford w/off the shelf parts N/A

Nice to see one of the mags promoting Ford over Chevy. Agreed! We still have 93 octane here. I'm running 91 octane with 10.4:1 and not having any issues with ping. If I had money to burn I'd build a motor like this, but I'm thinking for the street I could be awfully happy with a 351 stroked to 408 ...
