Re: Front suspension question/direction
Sometimes we forget what Shelby did with early Mustang which is almost the same as 65 Comet. Think I'd put the handling of a GT 350 up against anything with a M2 front suspension,,,,, wasn't that originally put in a Pinto!? exactly Fred! that's how Roy said it to me, won more races than most any ot...

Re: Front suspension question/direction
If that tci kit was a Mustang ii kit IMO would not be your best choice. If you need room for a big block maybe . You can bolt on mustang performance parts cheaper & can probably do most of it yourself. & for less than what you were quoted you could build a frontend built for racing which would be gre...

Re: 1963 Comet Mouldings
Welcome!! Kind of a fluke that I found that number. back before Christmas Joe Travers, a good member on here thanked me for setting him up with Russ because he had got a few hard to find things for his 63, the first was a headlight switch bezel nut. I ask another buddy on FB & he told me about Russ ...

Re: Front suspension question/direction
Thanks that helps. It has power drum brakes on all 4 corners at the moment. I definitely will be looking to do a front disc conversion on it. I will for sure check out a thicker sway bar up front. With your 4 link are you running a rear sway bar? They removed mine when installing the rear setup. I ...

Re: 1965 Comet Caliente (little red)
they are one speed wipers. if yours will go left too it probably has the little delay knob like mine had. it was intermittent wipers, they didnt last long, poor design. so when they fail you have same speed both ways. when they did work properly to the left was a delay of the same one speed. some of...

Re: Project save the Comet
Welcome to comet central! all depends on what you want from the car . if just to cruise around the 6 will be the easiest. it's always easier to put them back like they were. problems dont snowball like when you make major changes. Lots of guys switch to V8s,so if you stay with the 6 you might find a...

Re: 1965 Comet Caliente (little red)
If I let any of my 3 sbf motors sit for a couple months or more I pump it once to set choke & fast idle & turn it over ...usually takes a couple sessions of about 10-15 seconds of turning over until it hits, then one more pump & it'll bust right off. If I drive it every 2-3 days it'll bust just about...

Re: 1963 Comet Custom Build Thread
Looks good, is the defrost vent/speaker grille going to be solid white? No I took it down to bare metal and then clear coated the bare metal. I was going for just a clean metal look for that speaker grill. are you going to have the flames out on the cowl,,,as if coming out of the back of the hood t...
