I have a 600 holly on my 66 f100 with a 390,,never have to pull the manual choke out,,just pat the pedal 1or2 times,,,busts right off,,after sitting for weeks,,,sometimes I will pull the cable out just enuff to bump the fst idel ,,,if I'm going to walk away from it and leave it running to warm up ,,...

I've got an Edelbrock on mine, and if sits for a couple weeks it takes 3 - 4 tries to get it to crank. Once it cranks, I can crank it again anytime within the next 4 - 5 days on the first spin. I've wondered if its just an Eddy thing because Pop has said his does the same thing, and he's got two Ed...

the 1st 12mos me and Glenda were married,,I got at least 1 ticket per mo...have been barred from the very town I live in now,,ran a state trooper plum off the highway onto the RR tracks one night,,really that was kinda funny watching his head lights bounching,,,,paying tickets was like a car payment...

I may be almost 74,,but on certain days I still like to drive with the dumps open and shift that 4spd,,as fast as I can now,,,,and I never get tired of the whine of that gear drive,,,and this new to me F150 with 2turbos is a hoot to drive,,it don't take long to cover some pavement,,point A to point ...

JOE,I got one of those 4spd trans in a trade one time,,,word got out I had it,,,one day a old man came to my shop and looked at it,,,he needed it to replace one in his small dump trk,,,I said what do you think it's worth? He said I don't have much money,,but I have a V8 swb 69 ford pu I'll trade you...

have seen a few T5's give up the ghost at the strip,,,they all gave up going for 3rd gear best I recall

AND he probaly had a granny 4spd,,so low and 2nd was his most used gears on a farm,,,as a young teen ,I lived and worked on a large cattle ranch,,there was an old beat up late 40's chevy lwb pu,it had a granny 4spd,,dust was on every gear but 1st and 2nd,,,that's all was used,as it never left the ra...

seems to me a 390 is way to small for a big V8,,,,but what ever works !!!!! I was thinking the adver on the 390 said 305 ci or smaller,,but it's been many yrs since I bought mine,,in fact it cost less then 200 dollars,,,they cost way more today....pop

I might have,,but not sure....I might have not known what I was looking at.....I sure like the 390,,,A friend of mine ran one on a 300ci 6cyl with headers and alumn intake in a 79 ford 4whl dr...it was great.....my son came up with a 4 bbl alumn intake for a 2.3 4cyl ford,,,we put it on a race engin...
