260 cid. Recommend a stock engine rebuild kit?
Looking at rebuilding a 260 cid in a 1964 Caliente. Can somebody please recommend a company/brand of rebuild kit if my intent is for a stock overhaul, (highly reliable but not for racing). I haven't even torn this apart yet, so I don't know exactly what I'll need, but assuming all gaskets, bearings,...

Discrete Air Conditioning in a 64 Caliente
Has anybody figured a way to install the A/C unit so it doesn't show? Is there any room to place something up under the dash and have it point down? Anything other than the four vents right in the middle of the dash?

How do you tell if the engine #'s match the car?
On a 1964 Comet Caliente Convertible, how would one verify that the engine is the original and matches the numbers on the car? Is the engine stamped somewhere?
Thanks for any help.

Thanks CA Caliente,

New to the Forum, maybe new to Comets soon
Hi, Cometers, I'm new to this forum, but not entirely new to the car hobby. I've been looking for, and thinking of picking up a late 60's Galaxie for about a year. My 13 year old son is "gear ready" and we need a project. Then recently I saw for sale a 1964 Comet Caliente Convertible and I immediate...

64 Caliente Conv. Rusty frame and undercarriage
So I am thinking about purchasing a 64 Caliente Convertible. The body is all there and pretty good shape. Rusty repaired and subsequently cracked, bondo rocker panels but other than that, the outside is good. Trouble is the underside. Getting soft on the rear passenger frame rail over the axel (thud...
