Re: gas disappearing overnight from fuel bowl
Dear Click and Clack, Since you're rattling ideas around in your hats, try this. The gas cap isn't venting, creating a suction. When the car is parked with the tank downhill, the gas is sucked back into the tank until the bowl empties and breaks the vacuum. When the car is parked with he tank uphill...

Re: '64 Comet tire/wheel size
And pictures. We love pictures. Here's how to do that. It suggests using photobucket, but some of us have switched to postimage or imigur or similar. Photobucket has gotten too slow.

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
You got an alignment man for a son in law? you lucky dog! :D No, not quite that lucky. He's got a four-post lift. I'm the alignment guy. I did front end alignment and suspension work for my father-in-law at his tire company for about 5 years back in the early 70's. I got an extra toe-in gauge from ...

Re: '64 Comet tire/wheel size
Here's a link to a thread about tire size and wheel choices. It's focused on 65's, but the logic and approach would apply to your 64. By the way, welcome aboard. You're in the right place for most anything you want to know about Comets. Jim http://www.cometcentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&...

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
Took the ole' girl over to my son-in-law's garage and put it up on his rack to set the toe-in. Never did it last May when I put the new tires/wheels on. Haven't driven it many miles since then, but wanted to get the toe-in right to prevent significant wear until I can rebuild the whole front end. Bo...

I've started using the postimage site, too. It's much faster than photobucket.

Dang, Poboy... Click and Clack got nothing on you :) You lost me with that one Groover. :? :? That's Click and Clack, the Tappet brothers, or at least that's what they call themselves. They're two mechanics in Boston that have a radio show on PBS where people call in with their car problems, and th...

That's where I bought my tires for the Comet. Great price, and tires were at my door in about 4-5 days, free shipping. I'll use them again.

Yeah, that's right. It got us there and back safely, though, so I guess it's not too bad. I've owned a lot of different vehicles over the years, foreign and domestic. I'm not the Ford blue-blooded purist you are. But when I got my current 65 Cyclone some 40+ years after letting my first one g...

Right proud of my son-in-law and grandson. He's getting him started young. At this rate, he'll be a true gearhead by elementary school. https://s5.postimg.org/ysa6g9ld3/IMG_8304_1.jpg free image hosting https://s5.postimg.org/j82spqb8n/IMG_8337_1.jpg photo uploading https://s5.postimg.org/hhjr...
