Re: 69 Mustang Disc Brakes into 64 Comet

You supplied the make of car but you did not include what engine the car came with from the factory. ( six cylinder or V 8). It makes a difference because the front suspension parts differ between the two types of engines. I can tell you that with a V8 car 1970 Boss 302 spindles and disc brakes bolt...

Re: Dan's 65 Cyclone project !

The area on the C pillar is where the roof and quarter panel is seamed together, the factory welded it then covered the area with lead. The spot on the quarter panel in your picture must be from a previous repair, there is no factory seam or under structure in that area. When I stripped my car to ba...

Re: 260 Tripowe

Looking real good! Are you sure having all the carbs open at the same time will not flood the engine with fuel? I had a Ford tri power with Holley carbs on my ‘71 Comet GT, 302, mild cam, headers, 4 speed, I set it up with progressive linkage and it worked perfectly. I think having them set up to o...

Re: ‘65 Cyclone on Hemmings web site

A/FX, I sure wasn't picking on you. The car may be worth the money to someone with the skills and the desire to make improvements to the Cyclone. Keep posting! I did not take your comments as being picked on, no worries. When I see a Comet for sale or auction I instinctually think it needs to be po...

Re: ‘65 Cyclone on Hemmings web site

I just see the adds and post what I think might interest other forum members, the condition of the cars is beyond my control. Now that I looked at the pictures of this offering I see many items that are in need of attention. The rusty floor and exhaust headers are a real attraction getter, the engin...

1964 Parklane

Another one of my favorites, this time it’s a convertible Parklane. If I was younger, had unlimited funds, and was in need of a project this would be near the top of my list. Not only is it a rare body style but it is loaded with all the desirable options except factory air, it has power windows, se...

‘64 Convertible on BAT

Listed today on Bring a Trailer:
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1964- ... -comet-28/
I took a quick look at some of the pictures, saw some holes and patches in the floor.
It says the engine has been replaced but did not say if it was a newer 289 or a 5 bolt unit.

Re: Re-Wiring Diagram?

I did a complete rewiring of everything under the hood and inside the dash on my '64 Comet. The only original wiring left is to the headlights and parking lights/turn signals since that was still working OK. I have tons of experience with Comet wiring now. Some PO replaced the generator with a GM a...

It would help if you would include the details of the car….
Year, make, model, engine, etc.

Re: Loman's '65 race car

Have you tried Moser Engineering in Portland Indiana? https://www.moserengineering.com/ When I built the Winter’s 9” I calculated the overall width needed to fit the tires under the car, built the axle tubes to length then called Moser. I was going to Portland for a vintage scooter event so I stoppe...

Re: 260 2x4

Jim, I've noticed that a lot of the hardware on your car is golden color. Did you have them anodized? Jim Jim, I wanted something a little different so all the brackets, nuts, bolts, etc. throughout the car have been plated in “yellow” zinc. When I did the car in the 1970’s I chrome plated everythi...

Re: 260 2x4

Here is how I did the linkage on my Cyclone, the progressive linkage is reproduction, the accelerator cable is from a Fairmont. I fabricated the fuel log.
