Re: Fairlaniac's 1964 FE Pro Street Project

I see you have a long shaft toploader like mine. mine came from a 70 fairlane/torino -RUG-BA & had a 31 spl output shaft, though when I decoded it said it should have a 28 spl., kinda curious how many splines yours has & what code it is. & you have about a foot for different shifter locations. It's...

Re: Fairlaniac's 1964 FE Pro Street Project

Harry, Here you go. I've fitted up the FE block in the engine bay via custom front mounting plates and a mid-plate. A little roll cage work, getting the rear and tires in place, trans mount and some frame work. In no particular order here are some pics from the past month or two. http://www.fairlane...

Re: Photobucket :x

I have no business but found a need to post pictures and have an email that wasn't tied to a boat load of advertising (hence - Yahoo, Gmail, etc...) For I think $55 per year I have my own domain http://www.fairlanet.com. I can post my own pictures easily and no one is set up to block mine such as Ph...

Re: Water pump to radiator clearance

It appears that by going with the 302 ho motor I have lost about an inch clearance from the old 260 engine. The water pump is just a tick longer on the 302. The new radiator is about .5 inch thicker also. I think if I use a .5 to .75 fan spacer and the slimline flex fan I will have maybe .5 to .75 ...

I wonder if you are referring to the rust bucket I started with 2+ years ago? I picked up a much ...

Re: Blown 1964 Comet

Leny, Saw you other posts on the FE forum. I am currently (tonight) working on a narrowed rear for my '64 Pro Street Comet. I have a 24" 4 link frame. My 4 link brackets are 22" centers. At 20" center is your frame 22"? Looking forward to pics of your frame. This is what I started tonight. Mine is 3...

I got to see this rare car in person today at the Reinholds VFW car show in Reinholds, PA. Great car, great owner, great stories of owning both cars over time.

Re: Front windshield gasket

Thanks, fairlaniac! I finally figured that out after many hours of exhaustive searching. I need to have both windshields removed & resealed. I've heard that headliners are easier to install with the windshields removed. Do you have any input or experience with that?? I have installed a headliner in...

Re: Front windshield gasket

Your '66 should use butyl tape, not a gasket. The rear window has a channel gasket.
