Re: Narrowing a Rear Differential

Ok to throw another wrench in the works  What about the Explorer 8.8 with trac-loc and disc brakes. Anyone know if it would be hard to narrow? I have seen videos where guys were narrowing with just angle iron clamped to the tubes, not saying it is a good idea I have just seen it. I wonder if ...

Here is the drawing I made for the rear in my Comet to give you an idea of what all to consider when narrowing.

Re: Narrowing a Rear Differential

Here's a handy note to figure out axle lengths and housing lengths. Though I recently had a housing narrowed I want to try one on my own. I bought narrowing kit from eBay and I'll get my shaft locally. Here is the ebay item if interested - http://www.ebay.com/itm/231735429406?_trksid=p2060353.m1438....

I recently had one narrowed, just the housing, added new ends and welded on my 4-link brackets for $270 here in SE PA.

Re: New Section For Ford Motor Company Related Cars

I didn't see much activity here lately so I thought I'd put up some pics of my '66 Fairlane. It's not a "build" it's running. http://www.fairlanet.com/images/66sm.jpg At Bristol motor Speedway http://www.fairlanet.com/images/bristol.jpg At Beaver Springs Dragway in PA http://www.fairlanet.com/images...

Re: Master catalog

I'd keep your book intact and buy a CD of the MPC from a seller on Ebay for @ $30. You'll have more cost than that by scanning your catalog. I bought my CD for $24.95 with free shipping. Keep your book for those times when you don't have the computer in front of you. That's my opinion.

Re: been quiet

Hopefully in a couple of months I'll be fitting up the FE block. I've got a 427 sitting in the corner. I have a junk 390 block to take the beating and banging to get-er fitted up. Fitting up the rear, roll cage, seats, etc... at the moment. http://www.fairlanet.com/comet/comet_garage.jpg http://www....

Question on wire type headliner bows

I'm putting a '65 type headliner in my '64. I recently picked up 3 bows and still need the fourth. Two that I have look identical and the third is longer with a little bit different bent ends. Are three of the bows identical and a unique fourth? I just need to figure out which one I still need as I'...

Re: sub frame connectors

It's been a few years since I installed mine so I'll try to recall. On the front torque box there is a small triangle piece that should be cut off. This will allow the connector to lie flush against the bottom of the torque box. I've seen people weld it fast below the triangle. This is incorrect and...

Re: Fairlaniac's 1964 FE Pro Street Project

Doug is it going to be race only or street & strip? You got it going on, nice pace ! I use to work for a guy, at least once every day he would state, rather loudly & just out of the blue, "professional people doing a professional job!" More street, occasional strip. You always gotta check how fast ...
