Re: Tilt steering

I called them and ordered the Comet specific column. He assured me that my stock comet steering wheel will work. It is on the shelf with the first coat of primer waiting for color.

Nice looking work, Doug!

Was it pitted before you sent it? I'd like to get some plastic re-plated. Thanks for the tip on sourcing.

This is the third bezel Glenn has done for me. 2 65 comet bezel and one 67 Barracuda bezel. He has a 6 month lead time, he's in high demand.

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

Got my dash bezel back from G-Car after being vacuum plated and detailed. The camera case finish will be installed on the rest of the dash trim.

I need one for my car. I could build a nice one from scratch for $300.

Hello all, the retired DesertRat here with the latest body & paint on my 65 Cyclone. https://i.postimg.cc/zDsMxBxv/DSC01731.jpg First, I took the entire car down to bare metal then used epoxy primer to seal it up. https://i.postimg.cc/vTf0Jr0B/DSC01734.jpg Then I opened the epoxy up with 320 dry and...

The legend has retired-----------

After 34 years 6 months and 14 days I have retired from my current job at the age of 75 years old. Time to turn the page and move on to the Comet Cyclone in primer on my rotisserie. I am looking forward to posting to this site more now as I have been MIA for the obvious reasons--------DR https://i.p...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

My neighbor had a new Ford truck that is a color very close to what I want. I will get the code and have my paint guy mix me a sample for a sprayout. I am thinking bright Cragar wheels, a change from the Torquethrust D's I was thinking. I'm a bit frustrated as I have all the items bought for the car...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

I am using the time to continue stripping my fenders, hood & deck lid to bare metal in prep for epoxy primer.
Below is the color I want to paint my Cyclone. Or something very close. Still on the hunt for headliner bows.

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

I want a period correct tachometer for the dash of my Cyclone. After looking at all the contemporary units out there I found a used unit on ebay that looked like it was close enough if not perfect. I bought it with no guarantee that it worked, and it came yesterday. Job one was to test it for perfor...

Re: 1965 comet sedan rescued

I sold the blue 404 to a friend in Washington state. My car is painted viper blue base/clear and cut and buffed by me and my 10 year old granddaughter. I installed vintage air AC, cruise control, ralley Pac, custom interior, tinted glass and I regret to this day that I sold it. It still looks like t...
