So how do you seal those holes up?
I don't. If the paint in the holes chip during reassembly I just dab a little touch up paint in them. I only put like two holes in each fender and two holes in each trunk & hood hinge. Once everything is done they are not noticeable .

Re: body gap allignment

I think I know what is being executed here but just for verification can anyone shed any light on this as I soon approach this point in life? Once you have all the panels and gaps all lined up on you car you drill holes through the panels into the body for alignment pins. I drill 1/8" have a lot of...

What rear seat bottom will work in a 65 Caliente? Mine is in pretty bad shape as far as rust goes and would like to find another one that will fit these cars. Thanks in advance
Where are you located? I have one. I am located a little east of Pittsburgh Pa

Re: Hood Bumpers

Didn’t think to look before! A hole on each side looks same as the hood holes. This one is a mystery to me. Falcon Parts says they screw into those two holes but the one's I got from Melvins has a nut attached. :? I've either lost my mind or they don't belong there. No access to install them. Googl...

Re: body gap allignment

Hey guys, I have my car assembled and gapped. I have it on the rotisserie for final panel matching and blocking. Since I have everything assembled I am thinking of drilling for pins to locate everything for reassembly after color. Have any of you used the pin method for reassembly alignment? It too...

Re: Horn no go “BEEP BEEP”

I hooked a hot positive wire up to the connector on the horn itself, and also grounded the horn. It makes a sound like a clicking diaphragm if that makes sense, but no horn sound. I tapped all over the horn with a small hammer too. Still nothing but that clicking noise. Bad horn? Yea bad horn. Whil...

Re: Horn no go “BEEP BEEP”

Start with the easy stuff. First check to make sure the car has horns( you just bought car) seen a few old cars that no longer had their horns. Then check the horns, run a power wire from batt directly to horn. Make sure horn has good ground. Old horns have a tendency to stick. If horn doesn't work ...

Re: Hard Brake Pedal

Thanks for the reply guys, it was a drum brake system to start with a single MC. It will be a few days before I can get the car on the lift, but will check this out. The new dual MC was for a 67' Mustang, will check pushrod location and verify MC diameter. Here is a picture showing the different pu...

Re: The Wonder of the Generator to Three-wire Alternator Upgrade

Lou, You are right about the original '65 Comet alternator. Not sure which store I got 60 amps from, but these stores don't seem to mind selling you a "replacement" alternator that would cook your wiring if you loaded it down. 60 amps? pfffh! Summit has a 140 amp "replacement" listed for a 1965 Com...
