Re: Forest Fire

Well so far so good for me can't say the same for some of my friends. I didn't evacuate on Tuesday morning like they wanted me to. I desided to stick around and get the place in even better shape for when or if the fire burned threw here. As of right now it looks like it is going to miss me. Definit...

Forest Fire

You would think I would learn after making it through two forest fires in the last 20 years that I would move out of the sticks. Guess I just love it out here. Now there's another one knocking at the back door. I'm preying that it turns but it is headed toward the canyon below me. If it gets in it I...

Re: filling body holes using sheet metal backing

If your going to weld them up use heat fence and slap a wet sponge to it. At times you will want to back it with a dolly and smack it flat before using the sponge. If the holes are bigger than a 1/4 inch I cut out a plug. I'm going to go against Vice grip and say always wear a helmet preferably a au...

Re: Fastening the headlamp holder to the 65 front fender

Do you think epoxying the pot metal headlamp holder to the front fender would work. Then I could eliminate the seam I have silver soldered the seams up before. 57 t-bird. Then I find out afterwards the 57 Fairlane are the same but steel not pot metal. Or so I was told. Wonder if Pops knows. Matt

Looks like your moving right along! Don't worry too much about the uh-ohs even those of us that have been doing it for years get them. Just learn from it and move on.

Re: Photobucket :x

My photobucket still works. I have been using it for about 15 years and I have never payed a dime. Seems funny that it still works me not paying and all? The adds have been out of control for awhile. Started using Postimage like Johno and haven't looked back.

Re: Engine Building Ideas

Mike if I remember correctly it doesn't take much to push the compression raito up on the little sixes. I know some heads have a smaller chamber and after being milled with the stock piston your in the high range. You might want to get the block and head your going to build before you start thinking...

Sounds like you may be driving her soon. Watch the freeze plugs especially the one on the back of the head. Might be rusting though.
Drove by Ramsey many times after going to Butte for things pertaining to mining mostly. Love the housing architecture in Butte.
Any pictures of your 64?
