Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build
Front e-brake cable woes!! Routing my new front e-brake cable today I found it is too long. 52" long of black outer casing, no way works. I have been searching for 3 hours for the correct cable but no luck. I measured the length I think I need to be between 42" and 44" long. I am routing per the fac...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build
Lou: I bought all my front suspension from John at Opentracker. He provided the Scott Drake kit C5ZZ-2478-RBMK for the clutch bearings when I asked for it when I ordered his modified Z-bar for my stock clutch linkage with the Borgeson PS conversion. My current problem to solve is the e-brake cable r...

Lou: I have been following along and I must say you are doing some of the finest finish work I have ever seen. Your car is going to be a spectacular one-off. I enjoy following the build so keep up the good work. What you are doing is inspiring me to do better on my build. I have been ironing out the...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build
My issue is that I saved the factory Cyclone seats and have purchased exact factory replacement upholstery for the seats. I purchased the foams 2 years ago and further research has determined that they will not work with my seat/upholstery combo. My upholstery vendor had a line on possible correctio...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build
Advice needed please. I ordered factory 1965 bucket seat foams for my Cyclone and when the upholstery arrived I took it to the upholstery shop for assembly. The foams do not appear to be for the Comet bucket seats I have which were original to the car and the new upholstery is correct. Have any of y...

Re: Paint question
Thanks Lou, I'm painting solid with no metallic and I will need to jam the whole car before painting the exterior color. I'm thinking a minimum of 6 quarts sprayable. The engine bay will be body color as well so just trying to budget---------------

Paint question
Question for you body and paint guys, how many quarts of sprayable color single stage paint do you mix to do the required jamming and exterior body? Assume good coverage in 3/4 coats with no interior paint here. The interior is a different color. Thanks-----DR-

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build
Both doors came out like the photos. straight enough for final blocking after skim coating the lower doors. I was able to get the hood ready with just the high build primer and sanding but I have to skim coat the whole trunk lid to get it flat. Should finish it this week. All the seats go to upholst...

Need seat hinge bolts & nuts.
I am taking my factory original bucket seats up to upholstery soon and I am short the four sholder bolts and nuts that fasten the backs to the seat frame bottoms. Aftermarket seems to be coming up dry. Could use a set if any of you cometeers happen to have a set. Thanks for looking.

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build
I have been using the milder weather to get some things done on my Comet. Below is a sequence of the bonding of my headlight bezels to the front fenders and starting to iron the fenders out for block primer. https://i.postimg.cc/nrXrrnX9/DSC01764.jpg Below I show the securing of the fasteners in the...
