Re: Heavenly, Story of a 64 bfx
It looks like the export brace that is common to early falcons and comets. I have the same one on mine. Ron Ron....when you say "export brace" is that the technical term for the brace, or do you mean an aftermarket part? The brace on the car in the link is narrow, curved and bolted in: [img http://...

What is the engine compartment stiffener that connects the shock towers to the firewall out of? It's obviously not original 65 Comet, which is wider, straight and welded in. Is it out of a Mustang?

Re: Do we have a Joke Thread here?
A few minutes before the church services started, the congregation were sitting in their pews and talking. Suddenly, Satan appeared at the front of the church. Everyone started screaming and running for the exit, trampling each other in a frantic effort to get away from evil incarnate. Soon the chur...

Re: 1965 Caliente 4 barrel.
I was told that the engine in my 65 Cyclone is a 302 out of a 67 or 68 Mustang. I have numbers stamped in my block like you do, Joe, but they look like they were stamped by a one-armed monkey. I think the first character may be an 8, although there is only the lower portion and a little of upper rig...

Wife texts husband on a cold winter’s morning:
"Windows frozen, won't open."
Husband texts back:
"Gently pour some lukewarm water over it
and gently tap edges with hammer."
Wife texts back 5 minutes later:
"Computer really messed up now.”

Hey Pop,ncgalax.......I know this isn't a tractor forum, but....one of the issues I have with the 8N is that the coolant looks like a butterscotch milkshake. There's no water in the crank case, but there must me a leak somewhere forcing oil into the cooling system. Someone told me it could be a bad ...

Re: hello
I've got a 1948 Ford 8N tractor that was my dad's. Still has the original 6V battery system and generator on it. Most 8N's you come across were converted to 12V and an alternator long ago. I've got to replace the split tires and leaking rear axle seals. We have an active antique tractor club in my a...

Welcome aboard! That 66 looks barn-fresh. You'll have fun bringing it back up to your standards. Anything you want to know in the process, the answer is probably already here with a search, or just ask and someone will know the answer. I love the vinegar/pepper based BBQ, but in middle SC where I am...

Wish I could dismantle my 65 Cyclone this easily. I could get my rebuild done in a weekend or two.

Super Story! The stuff dreams are made of. I bought my first 65 Cyclone when I was 17 for $750, but I didn't get as many goodies as you did. And that was 1971! You made out like a bandit!! Go buy some lottery tickets. Welcome aboard. Jim

Re: Synthetic oil
My son-in-law turned me on to using Shell Rotella T. It's actually intended as a multi-grade diesel motor oil, but is fine for gas engines as well. The benefit is that it contains 3 - 9% zinc, as well as 1 - 5% polymer additives. It's designed for the high temps and wear and tear of big diesels, exc...
