Re: Crankcase oil leak

As long as we're on this...69 Mustang 428 FE,had a mechanical oil pressure gauge on the filter adapter to watch it on 1st start up.Had some fittings on it so it was pointed forward and up so I could see it. Was changing oil after cam break in and going to connect up the stock oil pressure sender,rem...

Re: All Ford Swap Meet

Been a while since I went but from what I hear,it's not what it used to be. There were 3 buildings and acres outside completely full of everything Ford that you can imagine. We bought a space and had a load of stuff to sell. Apparently most of the action takes place Fri night before it's open to the...

Re: cheap air pump evac system

.090 might be too big. HV,HP pump? What weight oil? Baffles in the valve covers? Not saying you have the problem but it would be nice to know how much oil is hanging around under the covers....for more reasons than your issue.

Re: cheap air pump evac system

Those exhaust evac systems do work somewhat but the angle which the tubes are welded in is critical. If you have a possible blow by problem, they will just plug up and be ineffective or possibly detrimental. Are you sure you're not getting too much oil up top?

Re: Help! 1965 Caliente 289 just stopped running

You said it was trying to run with the starter engaged. The 2 small wires on the fender well mounted solenoid might be reversed....would cause this condition.

Re: Stroker choices?

I do run a G3 alt but unless you have dual electric fans or a million watt power amp or both,it's not needed. The G3 install is almost always followed by annoying belt squeal with V belts.

Re: Stroker choices?

Volvo pump is 03 to 08 S60. I have a BBF powered Fox body with a Toyota MR2 pump.About the same concept but a little more pressure and flow...and less cumbersome and easier on the eyes,IMO.It has a later SN95 GT rack and hydro boost. The setup couldn't work any better and there is less stuff hanging...

Re: Another rear end question

Sassy is exactly right. Get your tub work done and the tires and wheels you want first. Guessing on the axle width usually ends up resulting in wheel back spacing on the wheel you want is not available or....it looks like it will work but you can't get the tire under the car. Might end up being more...

Re: Carpet question

If the tunnel was not drastically modified, the molded carpet will work.It might come up a little short on the kick board, passenger side, but mine had enough material to fit under the firewall pad. There was enough extra material on the door jambs to patch in a piece on the tunnel if you need to.

Re: AOD trouble

I'm sure you know this but the TV adjustment is not like the kick down on a C6. The Transgo kit I mentioned has a really good seat of the pants TV adjustment procedure in the instructions. For a complete rebuild, about the only special tools you will need is a set of seal protectors and a drawer full...

Re: AOD trouble

Sounds like the converter is draining back which would cause the trans to be over full when sitting for a while. It should, however, engage when the converter fills back up. If you think the trans is in good condition otherwise you might try this... http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/Shift_kit_AOD_sh...

Re: Por 15 rubberized undercoating for wheel wells

I tried it. Looked exactly like the stuff I got at Walmart for half the price. Covers and looks ok I guess but If you want to do it right, consider this.Buy the cheap applicator gun and thin it down some with lacquer thinner,35,45 psi. https://www.amazon.com/3M-08864-Schutz-Rubberized-Coating/dp/B000...
