I read an article about that incident. Apparently the throttle hung and running a magnito so it would not shutdown. Crazy ride. Watched a video today of a no prep/street outlaw car call Kong crash. Scary pictures of his helmet broken.

I cut my good hood. At one time I had a couple extras but was talked in to selling. Sold one to a kid that bought one of my comets. Here is a pic of the hole and the salad bowl air cleaner setup.

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
I drove my comet out of the shop so I could use the shop. It was around 38F, no choke on my Quickfuel carb, idled rough but started after 2 pumps. I only put 94 octane in my comet, quads and lawn mowers. They start anytime of year. I remember Roy and someone else complaining how how bad the Crites f...

building a race track
For those that don't know I a member of a club the puts on a drag race every year. For 15 years we held a 1/4 mile race on our local airport. We moved to a street in town for 3 years while they did upgrades to the local airport. Our airport has no scheduled flights and is more industrial. We didn't ...

Re: Engine bay room?
You can trim some of the shock tower yourself without a kit and without moving the suspension. I trimmed mine and wish I had cut more. I parted out a 65 comet that had a 351C in it. Shock towers were cut and had shortened control arms. No idea how it drove.

What Joe said, double roll with a steel gear. Way back in my teenage years during a burnout my stock plastic toothed gear came apart.

Re: Chrisman’s Comet
Last night I started reading through the HAMB comet thread on around page 84 there was talk about the restoring on Dyno Dons 65. some say restoration and others say rebody. I will post some of the comments and try to post the pics. Lot of people are confusing things. Here goes. Pete Gates bought onl...

Re: Chrisman’s Comet
I think it was a HAMB member by the user name Muttley that posted the pics and a lot of his pics are missing now. I could be wrong. I never saw any pics of a tribute comet. I searched and found the pages and pics. It wasn't Muttley. It does sound like they did restore Dyno's 65 but some might say it...

Years back they made them with Falcon wheel openings. It would be great if someone finally made comet ones.

Re: Chrisman’s Comet
I went back through the pages here and on the HAMB. This has been argued about many times. To many missing pics on the HAMB. It seemed like people that where in the know, knew what happened to the original car. I think a tribute car is better anyways. Honor a legend and built for yourself.

Re: Chrisman’s Comet
I have never seen that pic of the Chrisman comet before either. The Chrisman comet still, exists but Dyno Dons comet was cut up. After he sold it they chopped the roof and had a funky 70s style paint job. I have seen pics of the body cut up. Roy had one pic and it was definitely the chopped roof com...
