Chris,Welcome to the Forum.I like you convert rendering.I'm out in Calif.and at last years all Mercury show a BEAUTIFUL 63 S-22 Hardtop got best Comet out of about two dozen Comets.63's are getting hard to find,especially converts,Good Luck with yours and your stepsons.Roy.

The only difference is 9.2"verses 9.5",You can hardly tell the difference.Edelbrock lists two different manifolds for each deck height but I have been running an early performer on a late block for over 200,000 miles!You DO NOT have to shave the towers to put a 351 in your Comet,it helps but is not ...

If the axle has a center spring you will need a truck pan[or custom]to clear the spring.You will need to make headers so why not make some cool fenderwell tubes.You will need some tunnel work to get that big ol C-6 to fit.I have a friend building a similar 65,but he is using parrallel springs on the...

351W in 65 Comet

The 351 fits well.A good friend has been running this combo for 15 years!He had custom headers built,but other than that it bolts in.If you use Gt40 heads on any small block you will have header problems with spark plugs, .I run a 347 stroker,makes plenty of power without the weight penalty of a 351...

Disc Brakes

You can use a Lincoln Versaille and Mercury Monarch of the same years.Use the Granada outer tierod ends,if you have manual steering.I used a master cylinder from a Maverick,non-power,bolts right up and existing pushrod is right length.I used an adjustable prop valve to the rear.Roy.

Thanks guys.I'm headed out this weekend to test.I put a Vertigate shifter in and new tires,so want to get used to them befor the GoodGuys March Meet.I'm hoping the shifter will help in consistancy,new tires should help also.Roy.
