Re: Synthetic oil
My son-in-law turned me on to using Shell Rotella T. It's actually intended as a multi-grade diesel motor oil, but is fine for gas engines as well. The benefit is that it contains 3 - 9% zinc, as well as 1 - 5% polymer additives. It's designed for the high temps and wear and tear of big diesels, exc...

Re: what did you do to your comet today?

That was a good deal. The only full set of rockers and wheel trims for a Cyclone that I've seen was $1,000. I gotta keep looking.

Re: F4U-5 Corsair down under
It wasn't a carrier bird, but the P-47 was a beast, too. It had one of the highest kill ratios of the war, due in part to its armor. It was like a flying tank. It didn't have the sex appeal of some of the others, though. In fact, they called it the jug. When it comes to looks, the Spitfire, P-51 and...

Re: what did you do to your comet today?
Hey Joem....how long did it take you to find those Cyclone rockers and wheel trims on ebay? I've been looking on ebay, CL, etc, but can't find any for less than a fortune. My 65 didn't have any of the rocker/wheel trim when I bought it. The guy threw in a set of wheel trims for a Caliente, but no ro...

Welcome aboard, John. I'm a relative newbie to the forum, too (joined in November). I haven't posted much, yet, but there's hardly a night I don't check in to see what's going on. There is a wealth of information to be gained here. Question for the experts: Wasn't one of the more obvious visual tip-...

Tristan......I'm located in Lexington, so not too far from you. How about updating this post or PM me if you go to see this guy. I could use a few parts for my 65 Cyclone.

Re: 65 Caliente Passengers Side Mirror
Comechero will now have matching mirrors. I have all the parts but one so if it's made to be a remote I could turn it into a pass side remote as well. Just need the large bezel nut that mounts the control to the door. Ron....did you ever find a source for the large bezel nut? I have a left-hand rem...

Re: 1964 Cyclone Dash Insert Trim
AutoKrafters has an insert kit for $40. It's wood grained, like used on the Caliente. Not sure if the 64 Cyclone used wood grained or black.
