Re: 1966 Caliente Parking Brake
Blei, I have 3 of them from 68-69 Fairlane/Torinos. They are identical to 1966-1967 except the brake release rod is straight on '66-'67 Comet/Fairlane. The '68-'69 Torino/Fairlane/Montego release rod has a bend to clear the different lower dash. If you want one I'll take $20 plus shipping. One has t...

I've had this for years. There use to be a tag on it but has gotten lost. I recall the tag stating '64 or '65 Comet or Falcon. Does anyone recognize it to confirm the identity? The holes are 24 inches across. Thanks!

Re: 1966 Caliente Parking Brake
I think I have 2 parking brake pedal assemblies from parts cars. If I can find them you'll need the cable from the pedal to what I'll call an equalizer bar. The washer, spring, nut, etc... at the cable end. The left and right cable to the rear brakes. You'll need the "S" shaped bar that mounts under...

Re: Adjust window
Do you have the ability to take a picture and email it? If so, send to my email fairlaniac@fairlanet.com I have done most of these in my '66 Fairlane so I might be able to help. I'm having difficulty understanding how you are explaining. Pictures may help.
Good luck!

Re: Adjust window
I wonder if the one around the window is installed correctly? The "fuzzies" along the window wouldn't stop the door from closing.

Re: Adjust window
Which rubber strips did you replace? I'm having are hard time figuring out what is going on. I've replace the weatherstrip and seals on my '66 Fairlane so it should be similar. I'm thinking something is backwards? Do you have the ability to post pictures of what you replaced?

Re: Rpm vs Gear ratio
Below is an Excel file I have set up for various gear ratios that I've used in my Fairlane. I have a 4 speed Toploader wide ratio. The columns don't line up by cutting and pasting here but it's good enough. example on the 4.11 below here. Ignore the 5 lines of numbers under the first line. They are ...

Can you make a new account? Is it in your "Junk" email folder? Do you recall your screen name? I can send an email to Jay to see if he can fix it.

Re: MSD dist.spring kit
I have the 25 degree bushing (silver) in my 390 set at 10 degrees BTDC with one light silver spring and one blue spring. It comes in around 1300 RPM and is in full around 2800 RPM and it's proven pretty correct with the light. Maybe with the light springs and 800 idle the advance is bouncing around ...
