Re: Old Big Sister
I have seen them with 4 speeds, but I do not know if they were originally 4 speeds. I had to hunt this down and post it- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJYuQEJ0e30 A Starliner really needs a Cammer to move. I pulled out a tape to measure the interior of my Comet; 51" wide on front bench. My Lincol...

I don't know the current price of some pieces but the canted-valve head route is.....Boss
I guess it all hinges around what you want to do with the car. That's a never ending dilemma in itself, sometimes.
I'm dealing with bass ackwards at the moment.

'61 Starliner w/ HP 390 6-V would be very cool. Have you ever seen one w/ a T-10?Boss/Cyclone wrote: ↑Sun Dec 03, 2023 3:49 pmIf it were just one year older and a starliner then I would be all in. But not a fan of that formal roof line.
I don't believe I have but believe they were available starting in '61.

Old Big Sister
Here's a car I always dreamed of owning - https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1962-ford-galaxie-500-27/ My first car was '62 Galaxie w/ a wimpy 223 and three on the column. When I found out about this model later, my heart started pounding. Looking back on all of it, my '63 Comet is really a mix of st...

Re: Back again after a few years away . . . . .
Thanks for the pointers! I'm a long way from needing them, but I'll check him out. Interesting that Melvins had pretty much all of the parts too- didn't see that coming. Dan As Boss mentioned, may be out of stock since Covid lockdown but I would call first thing Tuesday morning. I couldn't find a r...

Hey, Dan! Cool you found the Cyclone
I don't know how current Melvin's Falcon catalog is but they did have all of the badging goodies.

Re: Reproduction Horns
The ones John posted are correct for '63. Yes, there are cheaper versions of these sold by some vendors.
You need both brackets and mounting bolts to fit them to strut rod braces if you go stock.
The brackets are separate, as the horns. They mirror each other for fit.

Re: ‘64 Comet - Hemmings
Thank you for posting, Jim! I have a son in Lafayette. Was kicking around the idea of picking up the '63 S-22 to restore with my grandson but the logistics didn't work out. This would make a good classic car he could drive w/o worrying about him wrapping it around a telephone pole. I'll send him thi...

Re: Wheel Machining
I had a set and they were heavier than these aluminum ones so I sold them. I think I’m going to stick with these and either A) destroy them beyond use lol or B) find a shop to do the wok for me Thanks Joe! Yeah, I figured the car handles better w/ aluminum but thinking of safety. Had a AR aluminum ...

Re: Wheel Machining
Joe,
Just my dumb opinion but have you considered a set of steel wheels for road racing?
TTDs are nice but I wouldn't try modifying them for the track. Keep a set of street tires on them, slicks on steel.

I thought I described it to a T? has the slot, looks like my pic. The ring on the cable fits the groove in the bracket? Si? Postimage doesn't allow me to magnify your picture. Rear floor pan....firewall.....toe board.....sounds close enough  Sold in pairs, bet you they are for the back cables ...
