Post by riverbum »

Found this one just ready for the pickin' today. Well, I've had my eye on it, but I finally caught the owner at home.

He priced both cars for $3K and guaranteed the 64 to run and shift out good. Both are 289 cars.

I can't remember if it had power steering or not. Considering what it would cost for a complete rebuild, I would clean it up good, fix the seats and dash, get it mechanically sound, and I would drive the heck out of it.

I'm neck deep in this Torino build right now.

It's a 2 bbl motor. I'm pretty sure I won't be getting it. as much as I would like to. After building y shop and dropping about $10K in this Torino, my extra funds are depleted. Dropped my seats off today for upholstery, ordered carpet, and priced a new car trailer yesterday.

Not bad, if you can use or part out the '65 to recoup some of your money.
Refurbished original parts are much more desirable than the aftermarket repop junk that's floating around these days.
Why I wouldn't touch a restored Mustang with a ten foot pole.

From my point of view it is worth buying. I know the struggle of too many projects, but even a clean up and get it into somebody's hands who will save it is a noble and likely profitable venture.

If I would have found it six months ago, it would have been a no brainer. Maybe even two weeks ago. Right now my mother, older brother, who is only 56 yrs old, and his wife are all in the hospital with COVID. My brother is in the ICU and they are suspecting my mom may have had a stroke, on top of having COVID pneumonia. I don't need to take on anything else right now. My brother and his wife have a farm and it could be a long recovery for them. I am trying to oversee everything for them and help with the rest of the family

The Comet is located in central Alabama about 30 miles east of Birmingham. I will be glad to pass the info along to anyone who is interested in it.

These are my two current projects

Riverbum, your Bronco looks like the same colors as my 78 F150 Lariat. Jade Glow and wimbeldon white.

That's a beautiful truck. The paint on mine is original and faded pretty bad. I'll have to look, but I believe the Marti report said Jade Green. I could be mistaken. Mine is a 79
