when i was a boy my papaw bought a new 71 f250 camper special.he hauled his camper to the lake with it.i bought it off him in 82 and it only had 9000 miles on it.i later ran it in a ditch and wrecked the pass finder and front wheel.so i sold it for 800 dollars to a friend of my dads who quickly fixed it.40 years passed and i saw that guy at the grocery store.i asked if he still had my truck.he said yes,but he parked it on the side of a hill and water ran down the hood seal and on the breather cap and into the carb.he said it wasnt parked that way but a week or two.the carb is froze he said,but the engine will turn over.i asked if he would sell it back to me and he said yes.he said i could have it back for 500 dollars.he said it still just has 70,000 on it.and he said he got the seat covered and it looks new.guess what else,he said there is no rust on the body.my dad talked me into selling it to him cheap in the fist place,i believe thats why he priced it back so cheap. 1971 f250 camper special-360 bulldog 4 speed. im going to fix it even if i have to put a motor in it! p.s. no april fool here,im getting my first truck back,i already have my first car,my 66 comet!

I like those bumpside trucks. Love dentsides, but bumpsides are good too. My daily drivers from April to November is a dentside, 1978 F150 4x4 lariat. Love that old truck.

i dont have it yet.i have to get it hauled home.im not good with pics but frankly,i dont care who or who dont believe or not.as long as i get my first truck back.for those who might believe,its white,longbed,tan bench seat,360,bulldog 4 speed.my dad lives top a big hill,i used to put the truck in bulldog,get out and it would idle up that big hill while i walked along side of it. im glad it has a fe in it,i should have anything it needs but a 2bbl carb,i might have to buy one.im glad he priced it at 500 dollars,after all i let him have it for 800 back in 82-83.if he would have said 2 or 3 thousand it would not seem right after i let him have it for 800 but it is worth that..i can come up with 500 but if he wanted more i probably could not swing it. if i can get my son to take a pic or two i will get him to post them for me.he said he made a homemade dolly that bolts onto the back bumper that he would give me with the truck and he said he took the split rims off and put some 1 piece wheels on it.he said i could have both sets.THERE ARE VERY FEW GOOD OL BOYS LEFT THESE DAYS AND HE IS ONE OF THEM,I HAVE ANOTHER BUDDY WHO SOLD ME HIS WIFES ONE OWNER 2006 TAURUS FOR 300 DOLLARS. been driving it over 5 years now with no problems.VERY FEW GOOD OL BOYS LEFT THESE DAYS.EVERYONE WANTS TO MILK YOU FOR EVERY PENNY THEY CAN. AND PEOPLE ARE RUDE AND MEAN TOO.

I bet your 65 is pretty mean with the 351 boss.do you have any 1/8 or 1/4 mile times.

We only have quarter mile tracks in my area. Ran in the 10's back in the 90's. That was quick back then, not so quick nowadays. Back then had 4.56 gears, and 12.8 to 1 compression with a big solid lifter cam. Now 3.50 gears, 10.2 to 1 compression and a small solid lifter cam, runs mid 12's. I have never used nitrous or any power adders.

Congrats on the find! Old trucks are going for crazy prices since the Covid mess started.

I had a '75 Ranger XLT w/ towing package, same drivetrain 35 years ago. A friend who recently passed bought it for his son. I ran into him first time in 33 years last week in the grocery store. Didn't recognize him it had been so long ago but he remembered me. First thing he mentioned was having fun in that old truck. It was a blast to drive in the mud.

73 is better in my opinion. 73-79 ford trucks are the best looking trucks ever.

well,its sitting in my driveway on a trailer.we had a rough time getting it home the other day.we had to pull it out of the woods and it was down hill at a sideways angle.the rear brakes was locked up and it kept sliding sideways while we wenched it.we kept hooking to trees every few feet to keep the rear from sliding.we finally got it loaded and we had to move alot of junk to get it to the road.we started home and we started smelling smoke.one of the trailer wheels was wobbling so we pulled over.we had to drop the trailer and go to my house to get tools.we got back and took the wheel off and all the junk fell out on the ground-bearing and race pieces. we did not have the stuff to fix it with so we chained up the axle and limped home with one wheel on one side of the trailer.it was 11:30 pm when we got to my house,we left to go get it at 2pm only 10 miles away.im waiting on my buddy to come get his trailer.im happy with the condition.me and my son are cataloging everything as we go,taking pics too.its a survivor,its all there,down to the last piece of chrome.all original.i will post some pics when i can get my son to do it for me

Those challenging days make the end results of your work even more rewarding. You'll be laughing while remembering today in the future despite how rough today went. Glad you got it home, can't wait to see pictures.

That is nice, what year is that? I'm guessing 77-79 based on the gas door in the bed. But with the emblems shaved it is hard to tell from the side view.

Boss the bed is new, aftermarket. only part of it that is old are the end caps of the tailgate. most of the rest of the truck is 76. but has a 79 grill shell with aftermarket billet grill. more pics here;

i got my truck cleaned up.i took the seat out and cleaned behind it.seat is perfect,floor mat is perfect.no dents in the body but one on the top rail of the bed.rear brakes are stuck.im taking my time getting it running.i pulled the plugs out and sprayed wd40 in the plug holes and cleaned up the engine bay.i put a battery on it and everything works except the horn..the previous owner said the only thing that was wrong with the truck was the exhaust manifolds leak.i need to go through the fuel system and brakes before i try cranking it.
