That is crazy money for one of those. I'd rather have a torino cobra that same year. The torino had a much better looking fastback style compared to the Cyclones hardtop. Of course I am predjudice...I used to own a 71 torino cobra, here is a picture of it at the 2001 Woodward cruise

Yes, it is. Nice Torino GT! I'm a fan of the '68 Fairlane GT fastbacks.
Tried to buy one from a guy worked next door in '78 when I was driving my Mustang. Light yellow 302-4V w/ 4-speed.

Not trying to be that guy, but my car was a Torino Cobra with a shaker hood and all the goodies, not a GT. I sold it in 2004, I needed money to build our house. But thanks I did love that car.

Nothing to it. :D An old friend of mine pulled a 429CJ out of a wrecked one many years ago and referred to it as a 'GT'. He put a 460 crank in it and dropped it into a wrecker truck. The truck is long gone but he still has the CJ on an engine stand in his shop. That's about the full extent of what I know about '70s cars

Always liked the Spoiler better than the Cobra, for some reason. I like the look of the Cyclone's roofline, and the killer gauge package FoMoCo put in the dash - along with a 140mph speedo was icing on the cake. And this coming from a Torino Twister Special owner.

Kid brother had couple 429 scj Torinos,, must admit I like the Torino curb appeal better.
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

I fully restored a 70 429 4 spd CJ Spoiler in the 90s. Had all original power train, original interior was almost perfect. It was a complete car to start with, needing only a few rust repairs, ran and drove when I bought it for 2 grand. Sold it for 12 grand in 98 to buy a fishing boat. It changed hands several times and the latest owner at the time contacted me and said he got it at an auction for 45 grand. That was 12 yrs ago.Love em or not, never saw another one at any shows I went to. I still have the fishing boat,though...and the build sheet for that car that's stuck in a magazine somewhere in the pile.
