The legend has retired-----------

Post by DesertRat »

After 34 years 6 months and 14 days I have retired from my current job at the age of 75 years old. Time to turn the page and move on to the Comet Cyclone in primer on my rotisserie. I am looking forward to posting to this site more now as I have been MIA for the obvious reasons--------DR

Congratulations, Doug! :D

You're going to love it. I had to retire 5 years ago to take care of my parents after 38 years on the job. Don't miss it one bit and have only been back once to visit. Still stay in touch w/ one of my former associates who loves cars and travel. He helped me trailer my Comet home from Texas. If he lived closer, I would be hanging in his son's shop to pick up a little money to put into my car. Slow and easy does it for now.

Retirement- I highly recommend it!
I pulled the plug 12 1/2 years go after 43 years with the same company, it was the best decision I ever made. The stress, travel, and long hours took its toll, now I play with my cars and take car of the house and property.

Congratulations, though it may take a while to get used to being retired.

... it took me about ten minutes, you should get to be 'retired' for the length of years worked ! .

have fun

Congratulations! Best job you'll ever have. I pulled the cord back in '08 just before the recession got into full swing. A bit scary at first due to that, but all has turned out well. You'll soon be wondering when you ever had time to work.

The best part of retirement is that every day is Saturday
