Beautiful car, Jim. Wonder what treatment the engine has?
That would really be cool if the 260 had a full Shelby upgrade.

Joe,
The pictures on the web site show Cobra valve covers, aluminum intake, afb or Edelbrock carb, and headers. Must have a T10 because of the Hurst. I did notice the chrome has slight pitting visible. Nice car, rare, different, NOT a Mustang!

Yes, should be T-10 B1.

Researched a full Shelby 260 build last year after finding a good '63 core. Unfortunately, new pistons are not available to pull it off correctly. They won't allow good cam profile and head swap due to inadequate valve clearance. A milder cam with stock compression would be cheap and easy but not worth the effort, IMO.

I just wish there was a way to turn down the volume of the auctioneer,,,,, or turn up the mics of the hosts, I cant understand him anyway & sometimes he drowns out what the hosts are saying.

I cannot watch/listen to a Mecum auction, ( or BJ) the hosts constant drivel is annoying to me.
I follow the results to keep my finger on the pulse of the market but realize that some of it is fabricated.
I have attended quite a few other automotive auctions that are not a spectacle, they are held in a more “proper” manner. Some of the auctioneers are very entertaining and in some cases humorous, and in my eyes most of the vehicles are of a higher caliber.
Of course this is just my opinion.

I'm the same about those car/bike builder shows
They build neat stuff sometimes but the drama they think they have to create, MUTE!
I'm sure any gearhead enjoys a build for its individuality, ingenuity and quality more than any fake interpersonal drama.
The builds on this forum would make an incredible Discovery series!!!
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

This car was pretty nice, sounded good and looked good. When you got close you could see it needed a little TLC, overspray on weatherstripping, door panels and interior needed a little attention, some places body work was starting to show, had some kind of helper or overload leaf springs on the rear and as Jim said chrome had fine pitting. But for the most part it presented well. Is a neat car.

I don't watch it on tv much, but I think the auctioneer is dominate on tv for the at home bidders. You can bid in person, on the internet, and by phone. So maybe the reason the auctioneer is louder is for the phone bidders??

They hustle, they run about 400 cars thru a day.
