I just purchased a 63 Comet. It had a 260 4-speed the previous owner put a 302 auto in it. My question is will the 1963 4 speed bolt on the 302 along with the 260 bellhousing. I dont know the year of the 302....Thanks

The stock bellhousing will not bolt to the later model 6 bolt 302. I recently swapped in a 302 4 speed in my 62 Comet,I used a 63 Comet 4 speed and bought a a scattershield bellhousing that has both trans patterns on it.However I did still have to modify my firewall a little to clear the larger bellhousing.I would try to find a 65 up T-10 or toploader to use that way you could use the stock 302 bellhousing and not have to modify the firewall for clearance.You will need a 65 Falcon/Comet Z-bar clutch linkage also.Good Luck,Heath
