Mercury Line
Does anybody out there think the Mercury brand will ever return in the future? It would be cool to see a 2020 Mercury Comet!

Re: Mercury Line
Unless somebody with HUGE money steps up,NO way Mercury will be back! FoMoCo already has a HUGE lineup of cars and trucks!A 2020 Comet would look just like the rest of the blobs running down the road!! JMO , ROY.

Re: Mercury Line
Yeah not likely.
The Japanese forced the US auto makers to slim down their fat overlapping car lines. No more duplication at all levels.
Ford pretty much has the market spectrum covered with their Ford and Lincoln brands.
I agree wth Roy: all the new cars look the same. Amazing to see a slim trim fighting 5.0 mustang out there! A true pony car with a solid rear end (I think for 2015 it'll be an IRS)

I've always thought to many with the same name were made, they should go back and make a MAINLINE,custom, fairlane and maybe a fairlane500..biscayne belair and Impala, just a trim and ACC's difference, same doors and fenders, but that would be to HO-HUM for todays' time jmo

Re: Mercury Line
Just read that China produced 20 million cars while US produced 10 million cars last year. Mexico is ramping up to make 5 million cars per year. That says where things are heading! Don't think the Mercury name will reappear any time soon. Sad to say.
