number of 66 comets made

im just trying to see how this goes.the total number of comets made in 66.if you count all models and styles it looks like over 150,000.my comet was made in november near the end of the year with a vin number 33036. would my vin be how many were made in lorain,ohio. because they couldnt have made another 120.000 in the last month or so. or did they seperate the cyclones,capri,calientes,202s

it seems like I heard the vins were for all the cars made at a particular factory in that year. so if that is the case the numbers above are for all Mercurys at all factorys & vins are from just one factory for all of the cars that it made. but I'm not certain about any of this.

if thats the case then they might be a few 66 comets with the same production number as mine, last 6 digits, just made at different plants

It's possible, but not very likely I would think. The number means yours was the 33036 car built at Loraine of ALL models that they built that year. There may be another 33036 vehicle from another plant, but it might be a Park Lane or a Monterey.
