I recently purchased a dash mount tach for my 66 Cyclone GT and have put together a mount template for hole location (easy enough), but need some assistance with placement and mounting. The question is, where were these mounted. I have seen a thread on another forum stating they were mounted above the clock and the front of the tach, not the base, is 1 1/2" back from the front edge of the padded dash. Seems easy enough, if correct.
I assume that the large bottom portion of the threaded studs is there to support the base of the mount against the metal dash, requiring the padded area to be cut away around the pilars. Am I on the right track here?
If someone has a picture of one of these tach's mounted to a dash, I would sure appreciate a copy, or maybe there's an instruction sheet floating around out there?
