66 comet steering box upgrade
66 comet steering box upgrade
I bought my 66 comet with a completely seized steering box and got it some what working. It’s Manuel steering and it sucks! Do they sell rebuild kits out there or could I upgrade to power steering and how expensive/ hard would that be to do? Please help

The manual drag link is probably more desired than the power version.
66 Cyclone GT; 245/60R15's on 15x8's and 215/70R15's on 15x7 Magnum's.
There's nothing like the sound of a pushrod V8 singing at the top of her lung's.

Re: 66 comet steering box upgrade
About a year ago I had a guy in Texas rebuild the power steering box for my '66 Comet.
Although I had to send him my box, perhaps he might know of other sources of boxes. Mine came back in decent shape, but a few others on the Forum have had less-than-satisfactory results.
Here's a link. Good luck!
