steering column diagram

Post by cyclonbrian »

All,

I know I have been asking a lot of questions lately and I thank everyone that answered them. You are all experts in my eyes. I have another question. I need a diagram of the 1966 comet caliente steering column. Supposedly there is a small screw missing from inside and I was told I need to replace it before driving the vehicle. I was told it is a small screw that goes into an inner sleeve? I am sort of nervous to try and drive the comet until I nail down what this part is.

Thank you all very much for your knowledge and patience with me.

Brian

Thanks, John. I completely forgot about this link. It's copy of the old microfish used by the dealerships.
Had a friend named Zeke worked the parts counter here years ago. I tried to order column parts for my '66 Fairlane from this same page 35 years ago! Unfortunately they were not available back then from Ford.

Joe at one time it disappeared so when I finally found it again it had the yellow hard to see writing . it was dark & easier to see before. but I downloaded all of them just in case it vanishes again. kinda handy sometimes.

Hello,

Thanks for the information. It is a column shift automatic.
