fuel cell foam

Post by fryedaddy »

i have a 16 gallon fuel cell in my trunk with the plastic looking foam in it.problem is i took the fuel filter off and pulled it apart and found little bits of that plastic in it.it was enough to slow down the fuel a little.anyone ever have this problem,do you pull the foam out of the tank?

Are you running other than stock tank? I’ve never run into that issue. I ordered a standard stock tank when I replaced ours.

I would get it out of there. it only last so long & even less with pump gas w/ethanol. so if you have found pc.s of it in the filter you know it's already starting to brake down. nip it in the bud :D

Had a tiny miss couple years ago. Checked inline filter-

If ethanol does that to rubber fuel line.....(?)
Thanks for reminding me to change the hose from my steel line to the pump. (Only hose left to change)

Good to know stuff, thanks Joe and Johno. I guess I should look at changing the rubber line going to the carb, no issues yet, but am concerned about heat, it gets pretty hot under the hood.
