Dirty tank

Post by Ojohnny »

Pulled the gas tank out over the weekend, I wonder why she kept dying on me?

I think 5lb. of rust and dried up chunks of varnished gas came out along with an old float. Cleaned it up and used Red-Coat to seal the tank, I'm having a hard time finding a sending unit localy so I think I may try one from a mustang. Looks like it should fit no problem but I'm not sure if the resistance will be the same to have an acurate gauge reading? Anyone ever try one.

Mac's auto parts has your sending unit. It is expensive though.

It's a 66, thanks for the offer but I already put a new one in it.
