Judd;sorry to hear about your friends string of bad luck!!! I forgot that you have ladder bars, pinion angle does not seem to have much,if any, effect with them.I tried different settings on my car, nothing changed,I did notice at 3 degrees down angle that the car rolls easier so apparently it freed up the car. Well I figure I'll make it in the 11's now. I just bought a 425" Windsor stroker short block with forged pistons that'll give me about 10to1 compression. If you can't tune it throw cubes at it! The pistons have standard and Twisted wedge valve reliefs and it has ARP main studs so I can run my main girdle.

Judd;now put a "REAL" distributor in it,a good single plane intake,an 850HP carb.,a good set of heads,a bigger cam,etc.,etc.! I have a 418" rotating assembly and a block waiting for machine work and balancing, may try for middle of next season, looking for LOW 10s,tired of 10.70s and getting whipped by big inch engines!!! ROY.

Looking for a bigger carb as soon as I get over the hit to my bank account! I had to get faster as I've been ragging my buddy with a Gasser 56 Chevy I was beating last year and he has gone to hilborn injected 408 with a lot of new fiberglass parts ( says he is getting down to Comet weight LOL LOL). All the people trying to start a gasser group down here are way faster then the 12.18 I was running so I have to do something if I don't want to be left in the dust all the time. I have a Victor jr but it doesn't have the water cross over for the rear of the heads and has smaller ports that don't match my heads I may do some swapping just to see what happens anyway.

Well I just got back from the track (1/8th mile today) and the new motor made a big difference! I launched at 3500 sifted at just 5,000 rpm and did 1.55 60' with 7.24 1/8th mile. BIG SMILE!

I have never ran an 1/8 mile track. In general what would that translate to for your car in a 1/4 mile times. Or is that a faster 1/8 mile time than you usually get?

Probably equals 11.40's in 1/4 much better than the 12.14 1/4 was running.

Yes everything looks to be ok. I'll still need to raise the rear ratio to 4.30- 4.22 for 1/4 mile or raise the RPM's to the 6,200 range. I'm not sure the 1978 two bolt block will handle 6,200 even with the ARP main studs and girdle.

Cool! Must be one bad ass Windsor to make power to 7 grand!

At least I don't have to take crap from the Chevy boys with their stroker small blocks any more.
