Not sure what will work a V8 guy can answer that, but a T5 is not an automatic if that is what you are wanting, it is a 5-speed manual.

I think I mentioned AOD to you but I guess I had a brain fart & forgot about your 5 bolt block, sorry.

So I guess it seem to be that if I have freshly rebuilt 289 5 bolt motor(that I want to keep) and do not like my freshly rebuilt green dot transmission that there is no way to go to a aod or some other trans.Is this about it.

aod wont fit. You might do a t5 swap but you'll need to get a 5 bolt bellhousing for a manual shift trans & an adapter. I believe this adapter will work;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-1965-Musta ... 1759576288

also a later C4 would work with you existing bellhousing.
what is it that you don't like about the green dot? the shifting sequence? If you put it on the green dot it will shift like a newer C4, it will take off in 1st, then shift to 2nd, then shift to 3rd. But if you put it on the white dot it will take off in second & then shift to 3rd. white dot would be good for slick roads.

I have a green dot transmission do not like it want to change to another automatic for my 64 It is a 5 bolt from what i understand only 64-69 transmissions will have a bell housing you can remove and put on another c4 all other the trans and bell housing are one unit and will not connect to my 5 bolt engine is this true

I thought all the C4 bells could be swapped but maybe I'm wrong!! There are other differences as well! You might be best served finding a '67'ish valve body with std. D-2-1 pattern and just swapping out. Hopefully someone who knows more about AT's than I do chimes in!
'cause Johno says you gotta have a sig pic! :)

You need a ''case fill'' C4 .any year will work. ''PAN fill'' c4 will not work.

Pretty sure I put this up before for you but here it is again. it has about anything you need to know about C4's

But maybe I'm misunderstanding you. your lack of punctuation is very confusing. :? :? :?

The cheapest way would be to use a early 65-66-67? C4 valve body and install. If you are really going to have a lot of HP then more $$ for stronger parts.I had another green dot trans so my transmission man rebuilt it (Clean and tight) as he put it. It's waiting to go in when I drop my other engine in!
Good luck.
