Just throwing this out there since I didn't see it mentioned: the Fox body blocks do not have the boss for the mechanical linkage. If you end up going with factory mechanical linkage, Modern Driveline has a piece to replicate the boss. I don't have the part number or price in front of me, but I can get it if you need it.
I put a 331/T5 in my 63. It was a factory 4 speed car, so I just re-used the stock clutch linkage and the MD piece. I liked the T5 shifter location more than the stock location so I left it alone and patched the floor.

I have such a contraption on my '91 roller block.
Bet you aren't smashing your knuckles in the winter hitting 3rd anymore.
Those heater control knobs bite w/ the stock T-10 & Hurst Comp+ shifter.
