I would say yes simply because 65 disc brake stuff fits a 64 which is same as 63.5.
I think the only difference between the two spindles is the location and hole size of tierod mount.

I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

to add to what fred said,on the CSRP brake page under ''compatibility'' on the swap 1 kit it says their brakes fit 63-65 & (60-62 as well with 63-65 UCA replacement)
so if that is true then hubs/drums from all of those years should fit each other too.

This is great information! I just picked up a 62 comet with the 170/2AT I'd like to stay 4 lug - can i do this without going all custom? Also would love to go disc brakes but it seems like they only make 5 lug discs.

no mixing of parts. either stay with all 62 stuff or go all 65 stuff.

AFAIK the only disc kit for 4 lug is from scarebird.

Dydaktix- I will give you the Granada brakes from my 63. Take the money you would have spent on a disc brake kit and buy 5 lug wheels  Problem solved

Hey Poboy this explanation of the steering you did. Is that the way the 63 comet center link attaches. Do the tie rods go to the part that sticks out on the center link?

Yours would be like the top one,& it has the inner tierods on it in the pic.the sleeves would go on those ,then the outer tierod ends, then they go to the spindles.

Maybe I missed it, but will I have to swap out upper and lower control arms with a new v8 spindle? Will I6 ball joints work? Thanks

Seems like I read that the early cars needed the control arms changed out. dont know why though, unless it is the strutrod mounting holes, which I believe the strutrods are different length than later ones.

But the question I have is Do you know the age of them? & for me it was a no brainer, even though my ball joints seemed fine while it's apart I'm putting in new parts. & if you get all new control arms you also get new bushings for the lowers & bearings for the uppers as well as new ball joints & for not much higher than just the ball joints & you dont have the aggravation of grinding the old balljoints rivets off.

but one other thing I would keep your old strutrods & get new bushings for them even though you have to re-drill the holes to fit the new LCA they will be better because they are adjustable unlike the later rods which are not adjustable. I'll try to find one of the threads that discuss this .

found a thread with a pic of the redrilling the rods. looks like the lengths are the difference from early to late cars.

I'm not sure if you will need to redrill, maybe it only needs done to later cars using the early s rods? maybe someone will chime in who knows

My strut rods are in good shape...are all ball joints the same size?
